Kind Deeds

Just a quick and easy card here.  This uses the Kind Deeds set (one of my all time favorites) from Clear & Simple Stamps.  Nothing too fancy about this card, just distressed the edges and sponged them.  On the side I added some card candy (no longer available).  I know black flowers are not something that are gorgeous or beautiful but I thought it stood our more and then I splattered some so saffron onto the background which is one of the challenges "Splatter Technique Challenge in the Moxie Fab World".  You do have to enlarge to really see the splatter behind the floral image.

Getting Krafty

I'm on a HUGE Kraft kick, for some reason it is my go to neutral these days.

These are some quick cards using some scraps I had laying on my desk.  The flower was already colored and so this card came together easy using the Mojo Monday sketch and the Play Date Cafe Challenge colors as well as the Make It Monday with Kraft Outlet.

Stamps: Great Friend, Relax from Verve Stamps (sentiment also from Verve)
Paper: Crumb Cake, Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler, My Mind's Eye Indie Chic "Nutmeg"
Ink: Night of Navy, Crumb Cake
Accessories: Pearls from SU!, Swiss Dots embossing folder from Cuttle Bug

My second card is using the CAS171 sketch for last week, which I'm a little late in posting-I had it sitting on my desk for a few days.  I'm also including it for the CAS-ual Friday "For the Guys".

Stamps: onesie4baby from The {Stamps} of Life
Paper: Crumb Cake, Enchanted Evening
Ink: Dish All the Dirt Brown, Enchanted Evening
Accessories: dimensionals

You're the Best!

I did not get any time this weekend to stamp and really stayed away from the office but I promise I'll be making up for it this upcoming weekend as I take some time out to stamp.

I completed this card last week, was a quick and easy card (less than 10 minutes) using some of my new papers I received along with some decorative tape.

Hope your week is off to a good start, it's our first official day of Summer Vacation here and the two younger ones went off to summer camp-they were both super excited!

Stamps: Handwritten Notes from Paper Trey Ink
Paper: My Mind's Eye Indie Chic "Nutmeg", Crumb Cake
Ink: Dish All the Dirt Brown

Congratulations Grad

I've also been busy making Graduation cards as well, need to get a couple more made by next week for a party we are attending where 3 of the boys all are graduating.

This was for Sydney's cheer coach who asked me to make a few cards for her, this was for her friend who is graduating from Georgia Southern.

I embossed the Congratulations sentiment and then the alphabet I stamped twice and cut one out and popped it up.  I didn't have a Prima flower to match so I colored it with my copic marker.

Hope you are having a wonderful Saturday-we will be at the ball field, coming down to the last 2 weeks of baseball.

You are in my thoughts

Okay, when I first saw the color challenge this week at Blogger's Challenge, I wasn't too sure what I was going to do.  But, once the idea popped into my head I knew exactly what I was going to do although I went with a darker green than I originally was thinking.

The colors, green, brown and neutral.  I'm thinking I'll be making a few more of these with a variety of colors and sentiments.

Want to join us for Blogger's Challenge this week?  Would love to see how you incorporate the color challenge and which shades of brown and green you choose to use.  Just link in here at Blogger's Challenge.

For a Special Teacher

I have been busy this week after the kiddos are in bed creating more teacher's cards.  With 3 kiddos in school there are LOTS of teachers to make for and I feel bad as sometimes I don't even make enough for EVERY teacher they see throughout the year.  My oldest didn't even want to give a teacher's gift at all (is that not cool in middle school anymore?) but I think I talked him into at least flowers for his teacher.

I was browsing some of my favorite cards that I save and came across one from one of my all time favorite stampers- Jen Tapler- I've always loved her style and the way she incorporates patterned paper.  I used this card of hers as a guide for creating one of my thank you cards, pretty much just changing the images/sentiment and papers.  I love how all the layers came together and was glad I made 2 of them.

The sentiment is one from Clear & Simple Stamps (where I originally met Jen) it's the Teacher set (retired) and inside I wanted to stamp to finish off the card with a Thank You.  Our children are constantly learning from the teacher and so I thought this bicycle image from the Old Fashioned Afternoon set from Sweet Stamp Shop would be perfect to go with the inside sentiment "You Make Learning Fun".

What are some things you are doing for teacher's gifts this year?  I always struggle with whether to get gifts, make gifts or give gift cards.  This year I'm behind so I won't be making them and my brother who is a teacher's assistant (para pro) suggested gift cards to a few places so we'll probably do that.  Guess I better get crackin' since tomorrow is our last day!

SDC55: Bright Colors

Yeah!  It's Stampotique Designer's Challenge today and my good friend Vicki is our hostess and she has challenged us with the following:

Summer's ALMOST here and when I think Summer, I think BRIGHT......the Brilliant Yellow Sun, the bright green grass, bold blues in the lake and the variances of bright and cheerful flowers....so I challenge you to create a Bright Card!!!!

Hope you will join us this week for your chance to win a $30 gift certificate to Stampotique for stamps.  Please remember that in order to qualify you must use your Stampotique stamps and only one entry per person.

For my card I broke out my Horse stamp and instead of coloring him, I stamped it onto some of My Mind's Eye Love Me Do and then added some color to it.  I couldn't decide on what sentiment to use and I can always use some for any occasion so I stamped my Just Because sentiment .  I added some stickles onto the top of the hat to really make it pop.

I used the current Mojo sketch which I don't always get to play along with.  I really like this layout and think I would use it over and over again.

Hope you will join us over at Stampotique Designer's Challenge for your chance to win a $30 gift card for Stampotique stamps.
