Happy Beeday to you!

This weekend I had some time to really get some stamping done and had a fun and productive time.

My favorite go-to is always a sketch challenge and Fusion Card Challenge is one of them.  I pulled out some stickers that my friend Savannah O'Gwynn has sent me with some 12 x 12 papers.  I was able to create a bunch of cards using them that I will share at a later date.

The heart banner is the sticker piece and I included just a cute little bee from Stampotique.  Please see below for my details.

Sketch Challenges

This weekend we had nothing planned and I was able to spend almost 2 full days in my craft room getting inky.  It was productive and my mojo was flowing pretty well.  I completed 30 cards (some were multiples) but was proud that I got so much accomplished.

Of course, my favorites are always sketch and color challenges as it gives me a jumping point.

You can definitely see the theme of what I was creating (floral):

For the Fusion Card Challenge, I used the colors in the photo with the sketch to base my card on.  I pulled out my Simon Says Stamp Even More Spring Flowers and Verve Stamps Poppy Birthday along with some glitter washi tape and Teresa Collins Now & Then patterned paper from my stash.  I colored the floral image with my aquapainter and inks and embossed the sentiment.

For my next creation, which was more of a challenge because it's the Freshly Made Sketches and it's SQUARE which I don't do often.
Again, with the floral theme and pulling out some of my patterned papers along with one of my favorite images from Taylored Expressions, Sketchbook Florals and dies.  I colored my image with my copic markers and added the little tag sentiment on.

Hope you've enjoyed the creations and appreciate you stopping by and saying "hi".

Holding you in my heart

This has been a tough month of losses for family & friends of ours.  These are not the kind of cards you want to make, but I've found I'm making them more and more frequently lately.

I had some time this weekend to sit down for a little bit and get crafty and wanted to make a few of these to send out.  I pulled out the recent Fusion Card Challenge to make these cards.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my creations today!

Poppies & Flowers

This is the first slimline card I’ve made in years. I used the Poppy Bouquet stencils from #simonsaysstamp along with a sentiment from #stampemdous . I do love this color combo! #basementstamper #slimlinecards #stampemdous #simonsaystamp

While I had my Poppy Bouquet stencils from #simonsaysstamp out, I created another card using the #freshlymadesketches 429 along with a sentiment from #stampemdous . Another color combo I will have to use again. #basementstamper #stampemdous #simonsaystamp #freshlymadesketches

Of course I love creating with flowers as they are fun to color so I threw this one together using the Fusion Card Challenge using the sketch & inspiration along with the #simonstaysstamp Summer Garden set with a Stampendous sentiment and My Mind's Eye Flair Paper.  I fussy cut the flower out and used some dimensionals.

May Peace be your gift

Going along with my mojo and continuing to create more Christmas/Holiday cards I pulled out this fun image and sentiment from Stampotique and also combined it with the Fusion Card Challenge for the week.

I always love using patterned paper and always try to incorporate it somehow on my cards...I mean I have enough of it that I need to use it.

To give this image a little more depth I added some dimensional dots behind it and added some gems to my image panel as well.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful week!

Creative Blog Hop

Today my friend Toni Tessler asked me to do a creative blog hop and answer some questions about myself and my creativity.

I grabbed one of my newer sets from Paper Smooches called Party Posse and combined it with a sketch and color challenge.  The sketch is from the Fusion Card Challenge and I used the picture as inspiration (primarily the colors) as well as the sketch turned side ways (although I just realized my circle is off from the sektch-oh well).

I'm going to share with you a little about my creative process with some questions we were to answer:

1.  What are you working on now?  I've been working on a new release for Stampotique Originals who is the only company I design for.  This is one of their biggest releases and such a variety of stamps.  I'm always working at building up my birthday and thank you card stash as that seems to be the ones I use the most.  I'm also a scrapbooker and this is my fourth year doing Project Life so that's ongoing week to week for me.

2.  How does your work differ from others in your genre?  Oh, I'm not sure my work is different.  I'm a pretty clean & simple stamper I think who loves to utilize patterned paper in my creations.  I don't work well with inks and messy stuff-drives me crazy and although I step out of the box once in awhile and dabble in it, I still prefer the clean & simple look.

3.  Why do you create what you do?  I love creating and giving homemade gifts.  They always seem that much more special that you take the time to think about that person and what they might like.  I also love to create for my kids so that they will have memories when they get older of all the things we've done and experienced.

4.  How does your creativity work?  I'm a list person so I generally will write a list of challenges I want to work on and I'm also a HUGE hoarder of sketches.  I love that jumping point of using a sketch and will often visit pinterest for ideas on colors.

Thanks Toni for letting me be a part of your creative blog hop this week!

Joy

This is the last card I've got scheduled for my Christmas sharing...although I possibly could create some more to post-we'll see how inspired I get.

I used the FUSION challenge sketch for this card.  I love how I finally am using up some Rub-ons I bought probably 2 years ago (maybe it was just last year)...but it makes me feel great to finally use stuff I've had sitting around for awhile with a purpose in mind.

I know we are looking for a joyous holiday season with our family this year.

Chicken In

Wow, 2 posts and 2 cards in 2 days!!  Can you believe it?  Maybe I might get myself back into the swing of things after all.

Today is Stampotique Designer's Challenge and while I'm not playing this week, my card does use some of my most favorite Stampotique images-the chickens.

Immediately when I saw the Fusion Card Challenge I knew what I was going to do and what stamps I would be using.  I had a hard time with the open space but thinking I filled it okay.

Hope you are having a good hump day!

Warm Thoughts

Today over at Going Grey with Scrap-Creations our theme is "Insects or Animals".

This weekend I actually accomplished some stamping and got a few cards done for the next few weeks.  Of course I always aspire to do more than I set out to, but failed at that this weekend just getting done what was needed.

For my card, I combined it with a new fun challenge called Fusion Card Challenge which you can do either/or both challenges.  I decided to try my hand at combining the two.

My top background I scored some stripes onto my razzleberry paper using my Scor-pal and kept the bottom white part clean and crisp.  My image is embossed using black embossing powder and I added a few rhinestones to give it a little more "umph".

Hope you will join us over at Going Grey with Scrap-Creations this week.
