Blogger's Challenge: 123 Halloween

This week our challenge was Halloween. I'm squeaking in this week as I finished coloring this card last night and then put it together this morning. I actually threw 2 together :-) One the card was completed and it just needed an image added on, so I made it simple.

I'm not a big Halloween card maker, but have made a lot this year which excites me!!!

I used the Three Clovers Design sketch from my friend Kerry from last week on this card with a free digital image from Pixie Dust Studio. I actually had purchased her cute little princess digital image when I came across and am so excited to make my daughter's birthday invites with it. I saw Witch Hazel and thought she would make the perfect Witch for Halloween. She was a lot of fun to color and I'm looking forward to using more of these images. (you can click on her to see her closer)

The 2nd card I used a Stampin'Up! image with a card I had already assembled.

Hope you all have a SAFE and HAPPY Halloween tomorrow. Make sure to come back tomorrow for the stamp & template of the month from Clear & Simple Stamps, it's an easy and fun one!

Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge #93

I'm loving Mary Jo's new sketches she's doing using her new software. If only my cards were looking that good these days. I've been wanting to be creative, but just can't seem to muster up enough energy to drag my butt down to stamp. Today I forced myself to spend a little time stamping this one card which I had intended to get done yesterday but didn't.

I did decide to move my sentiment as my poor image looked so lonely!

This card is going in the mail tomorrow for a stamping friend. It's so funny but I've only met her once (I think) and I will never forget her. It was at our Atlanta Regional when we first met and she came right up to me and said "Aren't you Kim Howard?". I was thinking to myself, okay blondey, do you know this person?, how do I know this person? I was embarrassed as I didn't recognize her right away but as soon as she said who she was I knew!! I was so excited to meet her and was so ecstatic to hear how much she liked my cards. It's always nice to know when people enjoy your work!

So, I hope she enjoys this card I made for her. I'm no longer a demo so I didn't have a bunch of SU! stamps I could use on this so I had to substitute with another set. I hope it brings a smile to her face when she gets her mail.

Make sure you check out Mary Jo's card today as well as the other participating!

I have been wanting to try out some of Joanne B.'s buttony bows and mine don't look as good as hers but practice makes perfect. Make sure to swing on by her blog & wish her a Happy Birthday!! You have until midnight to participate in her Birth-o-Versary Blog Candy Challenge.

Card Details:
Stamp Sets: Tart & Tangy by SU!, Mixed Messages from Papertrey Ink
Cardstock: Whisper White, Old Olive, Always Artichoke, Bashful Blue
Inks: Always Artichoke, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Rustic Twine & Vintage buttons from Papertrey Ink, 1 1/4" & 1 3/8" circle punch, Bashful Blue taffeta ribbon

Soaring by to say "hi"

I made this card for a submission call. It did not make it :-( but I'm okay with it. I enjoyed making it and LOVE the colors of it. I still haven't given it away as I like it so much :-)

Do you ever do that? I've been really good about trying to send my cards out but every now and then I make one I just can't seem to let go of. Fear of not being able to recreate it? What do you do with all the cards you make?

Stamp Set: Everyday Button Bits by Papertry Ink

Princess Dreams

This week's blogger's challenge was a one-layer card. I love the look of these cards but am always stumped when it comes to do them.

A friend stopped over today to help me out with an outfit today and we were talking about her trip to Florida next week to participate in the Breast Cancer 3-Day. If you would be interested in donating to her, you can do so here. I think this is her 3rd time walking, but 5th year (I think) participating in the walk. She is $102 shy of her $2000 goal so if you can spare a few dollars to help save some lives, that would be much appreciated not only by her, but by me as well for helping out a dear friend.

So, back to my story...we were talking about her trip to Disney with her family after her walk and they are taking their daughters to a meal with the princesses. We will be going with our family soon and I really wanted to do that as well, but they are already booked while I'm there. I wanted to make an invitation as the meal is a surprise, so thought it would be fun to have an invitation requesting her daughter's to join the princess for a meal. I made 2 just in case something changes with us and I could give one to my daughter as well.

I wish I had more details as I got this stamp set from Target and not sure who makes it. I used my copics to color in the princesses and just added a ribbon at the top. I will add the info on the inside once my girlfriend sends it my way.

Make sure to check out the blogger's challenge participants on the right------------------>>>>

I'm looking forward to this weekend, hubby & I have date night tonight and our kids are spending the night with their Auntie & Uncle. Have a good weekend!!!

Best Wishes Fore Your Birthday

This has got to be a favorite card of mine. I broke out some supplies I've had for YEARS to do this card.

The patterned stripes is a piece of fabric and I tried to do the ribbon treatment I love on everyone's card but can't quite grasp how to do it so well. I do like how the card turned out overall just wish my sewing/ribbon treatment were a little more straight.

The darlings from Clear & Simple Stamps give me lots of room for coloring, I love being able to pick & choose what colors I want to use inside or paper piece them as I did here.

Hope you enjoy this card as much as I enjoyed making it.

Oh, how I love to color in the darlings :-) I have been in a creative slump lately and am starting to pick back up a little. I made 2 cards last night and hope this weekend I will get in a groove and be able to do some creating.

This card is one I've had in my stash for awhile but hadn't posted yet. I love the colors of this Basic Grey paper and thing that the paper pieced skirt turned out just like I had imagined it would.

It's Your Birthday

I made this card for a friend with two of my new sets that I received this week from Clear & Simple Stamps- Banner of News and In Bloom. I love both of these sets and I see so many possibilities with Banner of News.

I combined 2 challenges with this card and I tell you, I'm in love with this card and not sure I can mail it off to my friend, although I know she will love it as well...since she's the one who got me addicted to the stamping in the first place!

The first challenge was the Color Throwdown to combine Baja Breeze, Sahara Sand & Black/Brown and then I finally got some time to complete Mercy's Sketch Challenge this week.

I didn't to color in the flowers on this card as I thought it would be too much so I used my sponge dauber with some baja breeze on it, I think it turned out perfect.

Card details:
Stamp Set: Clear & Simple Stamps- Banner of News and In Bloom
Cardstock: Basic Black, Night & Day DSP, Sahara Sand, Baja Breeze
Inks: same as above

Blogger's Challenge: 121 Alter It

This week our challenge was to alter something. I decided to do something fairly easy with something I've had sitting around for awhile. It's been a fun week with work (busy) and getting some new stamp sets (fun stamping).

I had this brilliant idea to make some cute cards in here but I was out of envelopes so I only made 2 to go in here at this time. I used 2 of the new stamp sets that I got this week. The trees are one of my new favorites from the set Woodlands. I love how whimsical looking they are. I paired it with the Bitty Alpha Modern.

Sorry about the horrible picture to the left, it does look better in person.
