BC404: Cheers to You

Today's blogger's challenge theme is "Cheers to You".  This was a card I created with good friends in mind-so cheers to those that are always there for us and are amazing!

I really enjoyed using this layout which is from Retro Sketches #149 although once I decided to use my sentiment as the focal point I was at a loss with all that space in the bottom right side so added in some washi tape.  I used a Design Seeds color combination for this adding in the touch of green.

I am also entering this into the Seize the Birthday Challenge this week which is Anything Goes.

Hope you like it and join us for Blogger's Challenge this week.

BC401: Travel

card details:
Stamps: Journey from Hero Arts

This week for our Blogger's Challenge the theme was "Travel".  Well, I've done plenty of that in the last year, most of it work related, but fortunately a few personal trips as well.

This past week I just got some sets I bought from a friend and was excited to see there were several travel sets included.  I'm diligently working on getting caught up on my Project Life album for 2014 (I'm only about 8 months behind) so I thought I would create a few Project Life cards to go into my album.

For the ones above I created some thinking about our flights to CA last year and the journaling I wanted to do.  Along with that, we went to Tahoe where my husband rented us all bikes and we took a (what he would call short) bike ride to the Lake.

Stamps: You are Hip from Hero Arts

And again, some more flying cards as my husband and I enjoyed a second trip out to CA for my brother-in-laws wedding which was a short 6 weeks after our first trip out there.

Hope you will join us over at Blogger's Challenge this week with your Travel creations.

BC395: Flashback Friday

Today over at Blogger's Challenge we are having a Flashback Friday, sharing our favorite creations in 2014.

I had a record low number of creations for 2014 but I'd have to say that this card I created for a challenge in January is one of my all time favorites-I love the sentiment, design and image of it.

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving-we enjoyed some yummy dinner over at my brother & sister-in-laws house and tonight I'm debating leftovers we brought home or actually cooking something.  We'll see in the next hour or so what I may decide to do.

Come join us at Blogger's Challenge and show us your favorite creation of 2014.

BC394: Friendship

This was a quick set of cards I made using up my 6 x 6 paper packs.

Today at Blogger's Challenge the theme is friendship.  I've been fortunate enough that I met Lisa years ago and we've remained friends ever since.

I'm trying to do my best to get back into the swing of things and participate in my favorite challenges again so was planning ahead when I broke out my patterned paper.

I didn't add anything to these, I think the patterned paper worked well with these cute images from Stampotique Originals.

Join us over at Blogger's Challege with your friendship creations.

BC391: Give Thanks

It's been a long time since I've participated in blogger's challenge.

I had told Lisa I needed to really kick my butt in gear to stamp more and so I committed to joining this week and trying to keep up going forward.  I spent some time this week cutting up some of my patterned paper in the hopes to create a ton of cards this weekend and next week.  I have been inspired by seeing these 6 x 6 tutorials (gosh knows I have enough of 6 x 6 papers to last a lifetime).

I kept this one pretty clean and simple and I'm not really happy with my crummy photography on my cards these days either (call it being lazy).

This card is using a variation of the Operation Write Home Sketch #211.  I love these sketches as they give measurements.  I was trying to use up my scraps so I went with what I had.

Hope you will join the Blogger's Challenge and show us how you are giving thanks.

BC360: Think Spring

Today over at Blogger's Challenge our theme is "Think Spring".

I love flowers, and so my stash of stamps is full of floral stamps and this always reminds me of the spring and the blooms we begin to see.

I used the Tuesday Morning Sketch for this card.

This is a new set to my stash from Papertrey Ink called Harvest Berries.  I love the look of these and can see myself using this a lot...oh wait, I did use it for my LAST blogger's challenge :-)

Hope you enjoy the weekend and find some time to join us at Blogger's Challenge.

BC359: Birthday

Today over at Blogger's Challenge, our challenge "Mom" gave us the subject of birthday...I wonder why????

Oh, yeah, it's her birthday is tomorrow!  So join us in wishing Lisa a Happy Birthday and showing off those birthday creations for her.  I've had the privilege of calling Lisa my friend for years now and over them, we've discovered more and more we have in common...if only she lived closer (or I closer to her).

Hoping this card may have arrived in the mail to her by the time this goes live.  I've been horrid about sending friends birthday cards-I'm trying to build up my stash so I won't have to worry about creating for ever birthday that comes up.

I used the Operation Write Home sketch for this card, eliminating one of the flags to make the sentiment work.

Love the design of this card, but I especially love this sentiment.  Considering the first memory of Lisa & I was at a scrapper's retreat where everyone was fighting over some Eclair Cake, the sentiment seemed appropriate.

Lisa-Hope you have a fabulous birthday my friend!

BC355: Use 2 or more patterned papers

Happy Friday, Happy Valentine's Day, Happy Birthday to my beloved hubby!!!
Hope you are staying warm where ever you may be-we are finally melting away here in GA and I'll be so glad when Spring rolls around the corner and baseball season starts.

First I'm going to start off with a card the kids are giving their Dad for his birthday/Valentine.  I saw this card on SCS and wanted to do something similar...love how it turned out!

I took the Lawn Fawn Stitched Journal card die to cut out my card layer and then used the hearts to make a pattern on the card.  I adhered some different colored card stock onto the inside.

Card details:
Stamps: Avery Elle-Oh Happy Day
Cardstock: Real Red, Pink Pirouette, Rose Red
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black
Embellishments: sequins, Lawn Fawn Stitched Journal die

My next card is for this weeks Blogger's Challenge which is to use 2 or more patterned papers.  This was super easy for me to do, I love using patterned paper.

This was actually a card I hadn't posted to my blog yet but that I had made awhile ago.  I really liked how simple it was to create.

I don't remember exactly what sets I used, but know that I used some Authentique papers for it.

Hope you will join us over at Blogger's Challenge this week!

BC352: Blogger's Challenge-Backgrounds

Today over at Blogger's Challenge it is to create backgrounds.  I've really missed getting inky and I think this weekend I may push myself to break out my stamps.

This is a card I had pulled from my stash of ones I hadn't posted and while it seems to be a pretty simple card, playing with different mediums is a challenge for me.

For my background I laid down the Dylusions Chequered Dots template and sprayed some IMAGINE Crafts® Fireworks!™ Craft Spray in Potter's Clay and Rhubarb Stalk and finished off with some
IMAGINE Crafts® GooseBumps™ Texture Spray.  I outlined some of the circles to make them POP and finished off my card with a Stampotique sentiment.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

DO NOT ENTER

Todays blogger's challenge is Halloween.  I haven't been able to play a lot lately so am glad that I happened to have a few of these in my stash that I had yet to share.

I don't have all the paper details as most of the paper I pulled out of my stash of 12 x 12 that I had cut down to 6 x 6 and then I had purchased a Teresa Collins Masquerade Die Cut Acessories sheet and Bella Blvd. Trick or Treat sheet to embellish with.

My husband suggested on the one above I needed to create some more web to it, but I got too frustrated doing it and gave up :-)

Hope you enjoy the few Halloween cards, I actually sent some out this year which I normally hoard them all so I'm doing better about that.

Join us over at Blogger's Challenge this week and show off your Halloween stuff.

You're One Cool Chick

Today over at Blogger's Challenge our theme is "Farm Fresh".  While I like to think I have a lot of country looking stamps, when I went looking I didn't have as many as I thought I did.

I pulled out this cute stamp from the My Peeps set from Paper Smooches and colored it with my copics.

This sentiment cracks me up and was perfect for a card that I wanted to make for a friend of mine.

Hope you will join us over at Blogger's Challenge.  Looking forward to getting crafty with some friends this weekend at Archiver's.

on a non-crafty note:
The kids started school yesterday and loved it, here's hoping they have an enjoyable year and have fun every day learning.

BC319: To Die For

Happy Friday!  I'm so happy the weekend is here yet again, the long weekend last weekend went by way too FAST!!  This weekend we don't have a baseball tournament so I'm hoping the weather will be nice and we might be able to get out on the boat for an afternoon.

This week at Blogger's Challenge Lisa has challenged us to break out our dies or die machines.  I haven't been stamping a whole lot lately, and am okay with it for now.  Most of the evenings when I normally stamp I'm just enjoying some quiet time reading with the ball games on in the background.

But knowing how many dies I have to work with, I had to get off my rump and get something made.  Am thinking maybe tonight I'll get some stamping done if everything goes as planned.

For my card I used some of the new papers in my stash which reminds me of summer and the lake along with some of My Favorite Things dies.  I loved the current Cas(e) this sketch! and wanted to use that.

Hope you will join us and show off your dies at Blogger's Challenge.

BC318: Red, White and Blue

Happy Bloggers Challenge Friday!

This weeks challenge is Red, White and Blue.

In honor of the Memorial Day holiday here in the US on Monday, I created a few patriotic cards.  I actually created these about a month or so ago for a friend who was asking for some cards for veterans taking a special trip.

I have been taking some extended breaks, finding that my mojo is still lacking a little.  I think I'm working my way back up the hill and hopefully will be a little more active, but we'll see where it takes me from here.

I didn't write down details for any of my cards, but this uses the MFT set Blue without You.

The next two cards use the set from Sweet Stamp Shop called God Bless America.  It's my go-to set for patriotic card, love it!

Hope you have a safe Memorial Day weekend and join us with your red, white and blue creations over at Blogger's Challenge.

I'm also entering this for the CAS-ual Friday challenge this week which is the same as Blogger's Challenge.

Mother's Day Sunflowers

Today over at Blogger's Challenge our theme is a "Feminine Touch".  With Mother's Day coming up I thought this image would work well for this theme.

While I was at CKC last weekend, my friend Kristen brought some of her stamps along for me to use and color some images.  (While I didn't do a ton of coloring-Kristen went to town coloring gorgeous images).  This image from I Brake for Stamps was one I stamped to use and the sentiment is from a favorite go-to set from Clear & Simple Stamps.

While I used some masculine colors for the papers, the image itself to me is feminine.  My card uses the MFTWSC113 sketch as well.

Hope you will join us over at Blogger's Challenge this week.  We have a busy weekend planned here at our household with lots of baseball if weather cooperates.

BC314: Black, White and Splash of Color

Today over at Blogger's Challenge is always a fun one.  Black, White and a Splash of color.  I always enjoying seeing what splashes are used.

I decided to do some distressing this past weekend (or should I say de-stressing?).  I love how this card came out and my sentiment is something I will be doing this weekend-I'm attending the CKC Manchester with friends and plan on enjoying some girl time.

I picked these Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge from last week to play with and broke out some supplies I've had in my stash for awhile (the Webster's Pages trim).

So while I'm enjoying some retail therapy, I hope I'll come back refreshed with some mojo and ready to check out your black, white, and splashes of color over at Blogger's Challenge.

Thanks so Much

Today over at Blogger's Challenge (where I've been slacking the last few weeks) we are Embossing.

I've had this background sitting on my desk for a week or so and thought it might work with the image I wanted to color.  I used the Crocheted Poppy image from Our Daily Bread Designs and colored it with my copics and then applied several layers of clear embossing powder over it.  Once I had several layers on it, I put it in the freezer for a few minutes and then cracked it.

The original image has a crocheted border to it, but I opted to die cut just the circle and use the Crocheted Circle Die with it instead.

I wanted a bold sentiment with it as I also embossed this with black embossing powder and used the Phrases2Say set from The {Stamps} of Life.

Hope you will join us at Blogger's Challenge and show off your embossing skills (any embossing).

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great weekend!

BC308: Think Spring

I haven't stamped in awhile now, bet you wouldn't have even known as I had a few cards done in advance that were blogged.  I'm hoping that last night was productive for me and I was able to get some stamping done.

Today's blogger's challenge theme is Think Spring.  Spring to me is flowers blooming and colors starting to show in the landscaping.

This was a very simple Thank You card I created using up some scraps of designer paper and a favorite floral image from Amuse-Bursting Blooms.

Share with us what makes you Think Spring over at Blogger's Challenge.

Welcome Little One

Today over at Blogger's Challenge our theme is "Come Fly with Me".

I pulled out this cute set Tweet Notes from Clear & Simple Stamps for my card and created a baby card with it.

I love the pink, celery and chocolate/kraft combo, think it's one of my all time go-to color combos for girl cards.

My little gal and I are heading to Animal Kingdom today (if all is going as planned) and will start her competition tomorrow at Wide World of Sports and finish at Hollywood Studios on Sunday.

Hope your weekend is starting off well and that you are able to find some stamping time this weekend to join us over at Blogger's Challenge.

Friend Ships

Today over at Blogger's Challenge our theme is "Friendship".  I have to say I have made so many friends through stamping, and some of them have become my best friends.  It's always wonderful when a hobby can bring people together no matter how far or how close they may be, only to discover they have other things in common bridging that friendship even more.  I'm fortunate to say that our Blogger's Challenge "MOM" and I have become great friends over the year and I always look forward to our girls weekend when we both can escape.

I love how this card came out.  It was actually a submission reject but still one of my favorites.  This sentiment from the Text Objects set from Verve is just perfect!

Hope you will join us over at Blogger's Challenge this week and celebrate friendship with us.

BC304: Cut It Out

Happy Friday!  This week I'm glad that Friday is here even though the kids are off school today.  We are looking forward to attending Cheersport Nationals this weekend in Atlanta for Sydney's  cheer team and enjoying the remainder of the long holiday weekend.

Today over at Blogger's Challenge our theme is Cut it Out (use die cuts or an electronic die cutting machine).   Mine is very simple today but hope you like it just the same.

This card was for my stampin' friend, Ashley who had a sweet baby girl in December.  I pulled out a journal card from one of my old Project Life kits and stamped my sentiment on it.

I stamped my cool carribean paper with the Animals4print stamp and then die cut it using the butterfly die from PTI.  I added some rhinestones to the body of the butterfly and drew the antennae and trail behind it.

I decided to straighten the corners of the project life card and adhere it using some washi tape.  I love how quick and easy this came together and how it looks.

Hope you will join us at Blogger's Challenge this week and show us how you rock the die cuts!
