Brilliante Weblog Award

My wonderful friend Kerry decided that I was deserving of this wonderful award. I'm guessing I was at the bottom of the list but am excited. Just so you can see how wonderful Kerry is let me show you a fantastic picture of the two of us when we met in Cape Cod for a get together 2 years ago (is that right???)

He, he, such a great picture of both of us at our finest.

Anyway, the two of us hit it off right away and even fought over yummy dessert while we were there! We were 2 peas in a pod.
Anyway, here are the rules:
The rules for this award are as follows: 1) The winner can post the logo on her blog. 2) Link the person you received your award from. 3) Nominate at least 7 other blogs. 4) Put links of those blogs on yours. 5) Leave a message on the blogs you've nominated. So the 7 I am going to nominate are:

Rose's Mystery Image

I finally sat down and did my challenge cards for my partner. I had fun with these images, so girly. These images are Elzybells and I just was browsing their website and saw their princess one...I'm in trouble!
The paper I used is 3 Bugs in a Rug (Groovy Beads) and some other textured cardstock that I don't know who makes it. I also used some SU! chocolate chip and pretty in pink. I accessorized using some ribbon, tag punch and word window punch. On the flowers and bow in the girls hair I used a little bling.
This sketch was based on this sketch.
Have a wonderful weekend!

From Courtney's Closet Challenge

I got an itch to stamp today so decided to whip out a few cards. I loved the colors in Courtney's dress so decided to try this challenge.

I have to say I think it's only the 2nd time I've broke out my Wild Wasabi ink pad. Pretty sad since it's now retiring!!!

Hope you enjoy my creations. I also incorporated some sketch challenges in here. The first one with the flower and stem is based off Natasha's Fall to Layout #5 . My other card with the circles is based a little off Ashley Bowen's Brain Wave Challenge #12 except I used all the same size circles.

Stamp Set: Joy by My Sentiments Exactly
Cardstock: Wild Wasabi, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip
Inks: same as cardstock, Craft White
Accessories: Hodge Podge Hardware (pewter), 1 1/4", 1 3/8" circle punch, scallop punch, white grosgrain ribbon, chocolate chip ribbon unknown, dimensionals

Blogger Challenge, Week #55

I'm on the ball this week !! I had my card done on Wednesday instead of waiting til the last minute as usual. I had fun with this challenge which was to use bugs or insects. I haven't used this stamp since my little guys birth announcements in November.

Nothing extremely spectacular about this card, but I do love the layout which I adapted from Julee's Mojo Monday sketch from January.

Card details:

Stamps: Studio G (hello) and Stampendous

Cardstock: Patterned paper and solid green (CTMH), Bashful Blue, Apricot Appeal, So Saffron, Whisper White

Inks: Versafine Onyx Black, Bashful Blue, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, Garden Green

Accessories: Prima Flowers, Soft Subtles buttons, gold leafing pen, 1 1/4" circle punch

Make sure to check out the Bloggers Challenge Links for all the other participants!

3D Cards

My wonderful friend Pam Marsik sent me this card along with some other 3D die-cut pictures to try as I had stamped some images of a stamp for her. This card is gorgeous in real life, love the little rhinestones on the sunflower and the tag is AWESOME!

So, I tried my hand at it and think hers are much more fabulous than mine, but I can use mine for the holidays.

Romak is the name of the company so check out there site for some more info. I'll have to try the other flowers she sent me as I think they will look awesome on some cards and possibly in a frame.

On my cards below I tried my hand at Mary Jo's Lunchtime Sketch Challenge from the previous week. I opted not to add the 3 little circles as I just plain ran out of room.

Blogger Challenge, Week #54

I am so behind on stamping and finding that my mojo has lost me!!! I guess I'll blame it on the summer time and hope it comes back with full force soon.

I did get a card made, but I didn't do much stamping on it, I used a bunch of images I already had. The more I use this set, the more I love it, I just think it's a perfect masculine set and easy to use.

This week we were to use color blocking. I had a tough time with my squares and showing enough of my background, but I think it worked.

Make sure to check out the blog logo for all those others who participated on my right hand side!

I hope to have a few more cards this week as well.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my card!
