Where there is Love...

Today over at Blogger's Challenge is "Backgrounds".  I tried a new technique this week and created my background on this awesome card (now I don't like to brag...but it's one of my favorites) so thanks for letting me pat myself on the back.

I love using stamps to create backgrounds and although I may not doing it often enough, I like having the option.  For this card I used the arrow stamp and created the background with alternating colors.

Join us over at Blogger's Challenge this week, can't wait to see your cool backgrounds.

Happy Friday!

Happy Birthday Dad

Today our theme at Blogger's Challenge is "It's Your Birthday!"

This is one I've been hoarding and not wanting to give away as I really like how it turned out.
I stamped the bike off before stamping it onto my card stock.  The image was stamped over it and I added some pearls to embellish.  Think it still has a masculine feel to it.

Hope you are having a great week, I know I can't wait for the work day to be done with and get the weekend started, although it always goes by so fast.

I'm also entering this for the Birthday Card Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

Join us over at Blogger's Challenge and build up that birthday stash.

Gnome-body Like you!

Cute little card using the retired Gnomies set from The Sweet Stamp Shop.  I paper pieced his hat and body using my patterned paper stack.

I bought a ton of sequins and needed to start using more of them so I adorned the space in between the hearts with them on my card.

Hope your Monday is starting off right!  It was a great weekend here but today I'm a little sore from spending a little too much time in the sun yesterday (minus some sunscreen).  OUCH!

Bee's Knees

Today over at Blogger's Challenge is Things with Wings.

This is a very simple card for me, I worked with the designs on the patterned paper and stamped my bee images directly on it.

After stamping the bees I added the sentiment with some pearls.  Like I said, super simple card for me today.

Hope you are having a great week, I'm looking forward to hanging out with some friends at Archiver's tomorrow to get some Project Life done.

Happy Father's Day

*Sweet Stamp Shop Old Fashioned Afternoon set with sentiment from Clear & Simple Stamps A Guy Thing

A few cards I created for some quick Father's Day cards.

The one above I used the Seize the Birthday sketch, but I did not create a birthday card with it.  Was an easy sketch that I can see using again.

For my second one, I totally had to CASE this phenomenal card I saw on my friend, Lori Tecler's site.  I loved it the minute I saw it and knew I wanted to recreate it.  Lori is the queen of CAS and I love her designs.

*Clear & Simple Stamps A Guy Thing set

Both the card use the My Mind's Eye Portobello Road papers.

Hope your Dad is getting spoiled for Father's Day, we are hoping my hubby will be enjoying the surf and sand.

BC318: Red, White and Blue

Happy Bloggers Challenge Friday!

This weeks challenge is Red, White and Blue.

In honor of the Memorial Day holiday here in the US on Monday, I created a few patriotic cards.  I actually created these about a month or so ago for a friend who was asking for some cards for veterans taking a special trip.

I have been taking some extended breaks, finding that my mojo is still lacking a little.  I think I'm working my way back up the hill and hopefully will be a little more active, but we'll see where it takes me from here.

I didn't write down details for any of my cards, but this uses the MFT set Blue without You.

The next two cards use the set from Sweet Stamp Shop called God Bless America.  It's my go-to set for patriotic card, love it!

Hope you have a safe Memorial Day weekend and join us with your red, white and blue creations over at Blogger's Challenge.

I'm also entering this for the CAS-ual Friday challenge this week which is the same as Blogger's Challenge.

Happy Birthday Bicycle!

Today is my little brother's birthday...well, I can still call him that because he is younger than I am :-)
Happy Birthday Jim!
(seriously hope he doesn't see this as I haven't given him his card yet LOL)

He loves bike riding and so I pulled out my Old Fashioned Afternoon set to use for this quick and easy card.  The Retro Sketches challenge was used on this card and I let the paper do most of the work.

Crawling by

Super quick card here on this wonderful Tuesday-why is is wonderful???

One more day until my girl and I head to Disneyworld for her cheerleading competition.  It's been a few years since we have been there so I'm looking forward to going and having a few days off from work.

This past weekend I didn't get much time to stamp but I squeezed in 2 quick cards for the Virtual Stamp Night at SCS.  This one was doodling which I don't do much of, but liked doing it.

Thank You for Your Service

Sorry, had my details for the card written up and forgot to attach the card and write my blog post.  UGH!!!  Not the first time (or the last time) I've done that.

I made this card for a friend's son who went into the service last month.  Hoping to make a few more for my friend Sue.  Her husband will be taking Honor Flight to D.C. in April-a trip of a lifetime, definitely a honor for him and for us for his services.

Hope your week is going well and thanks for stopping by.

SCS LOVE FEST

WOW, I have to say it's been awhile since I spent a few hours in my studio creating just for fun and this weekend I made it a point to work my way through some road blocks (mainly my mojo and time).

I set out to create a lot for fun this weekend (I did get some design team projects completed as well).  I wrote out the list of the SCS challenges going on and then a list of other challenges I wanted to play in.

I hope you will bear with my LONG post today as I share an array of cards.  As I was telling my friend I was creating like crazy, I realized that almost ALL of my photos have a floral focal point.  What can I say?  I love the floral stamps!!!!

Hope your Monday is starting off well and that I might be able to spark a little creativity for you.  I know I've counted on all of you at one time or another to spark mine :-)

Friend Ships

Today over at Blogger's Challenge our theme is "Friendship".  I have to say I have made so many friends through stamping, and some of them have become my best friends.  It's always wonderful when a hobby can bring people together no matter how far or how close they may be, only to discover they have other things in common bridging that friendship even more.  I'm fortunate to say that our Blogger's Challenge "MOM" and I have become great friends over the year and I always look forward to our girls weekend when we both can escape.

I love how this card came out.  It was actually a submission reject but still one of my favorites.  This sentiment from the Text Objects set from Verve is just perfect!

Hope you will join us over at Blogger's Challenge this week and celebrate friendship with us.

Ten Minute Cards

Had a few minutes to create some cards so went with the newest challenges that came across my blog feed yesterday.  I love to participate but sometimes it's WAY after the fact which is okay.

This one is always a big challenge-creating a card in under 10 minutes for the 10 minute Craft Dash.  The card above was a big FAIL as I was getting side tracked while creating it.

The card below is actually the first card I made and it did make it in just under 10 minutes (9:50).  It's nice to be able to pick out your papers and supplies, but still doing that sometimes things don't work out the way you envision them to and you end up going over the time limit.

This uses the weekly sketch from MFT which my panels are just a tad off, but still am happy with how it turned out.

Card details Thank You:

BC304: Cut It Out

Happy Friday!  This week I'm glad that Friday is here even though the kids are off school today.  We are looking forward to attending Cheersport Nationals this weekend in Atlanta for Sydney's  cheer team and enjoying the remainder of the long holiday weekend.

Today over at Blogger's Challenge our theme is Cut it Out (use die cuts or an electronic die cutting machine).   Mine is very simple today but hope you like it just the same.

This card was for my stampin' friend, Ashley who had a sweet baby girl in December.  I pulled out a journal card from one of my old Project Life kits and stamped my sentiment on it.

I stamped my cool carribean paper with the Animals4print stamp and then die cut it using the butterfly die from PTI.  I added some rhinestones to the body of the butterfly and drew the antennae and trail behind it.

I decided to straighten the corners of the project life card and adhere it using some washi tape.  I love how quick and easy this came together and how it looks.

Hope you will join us at Blogger's Challenge this week and show us how you rock the die cuts!

The Paper Hoarders Push Challenge #1: Carta Bella Devoted

Welcome to the first challenge of The Paper Hoarders Push.  My friend Beth Matson & I have been doing this for two months now, coming up with a pad of paper that we both have and challenging ourselves to create using this collection.  Beth is good at using the whole pad us, I get tired of mine by about the 10th card and give up LOL....but I am using it up which makes me happy.

I've loved Beth's style on her cards for as long as I've known her and the way she combines her papers and embellishments.  I had to snag one of her ideas on my cards this go around, breaking out my paper crimper on some of my hearts.  Thanks for the reminder I had one of these Beth.

Hope you have a cup of coffee this morning as I share with you the parade of cards, gift cards and Project Life journal cards I created with the Carta Bella Devoted collection.  If you have this and want to join in with us, we'd love to see what you create!  Be prepared for Valentine overload :-)

Card details:
Stamps: Love Notes (Retired) from Clear & Simple Stamps
Cardstock: Real Red, Basic Black, Carta Bella Devoted
Inks: Real Red, Versamark
Embellishments: Kaiser Craft Basics red pearls, heart from Silhouette, Snapshot Fun die from Sweet Stamp Shop, White embossing powder

This card based on a Sweet Stamp Shop sketch from 9/30/11

Decided to try my hand at the chalkboard technique I've seen all over the place.

Card details:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Paint the Town Pink, Carta Bella Devoted
Inks: Versamark
Embellishments: Kaiser Craft Dec. 25th pearls, heart from Silhouette, Snapshot Fun die from Sweet Stamp Shop, White embossing powder

This is by far my favorite card from this collection.  I love that I did NO stamping on it and was able to use some of the elements from the paper pad.

Card details:
Stamps: none
Cardstock: Basic Gray, Pretty in Pink, Carta Bella Devoted

I really wanted to try my hand at creating some of my own Project Life elements.  I'm often in awe surfing the web at the creativity in the Project Life albums I see and although I tend to be pretty clean & simple using most of the Becky Higgin products, I also like to change it up once in awhile.  I can't wait to work on next weeks photos with my journal cards.

WHEW!  If you have stuck with me long enough to see all my creations, THANK YOU!!!  I have to say I had a really great time creating these as I normally would not have created this many Valentine themed cards without this paper pack and this challenge.

Can't wait to see what you create using your Carta Bella Devoted paper pack!

BC301: Happy Birthday Scooter

Today over at Blogger's Challenge our theme is Birthdays.  I never seem to have enough birthday cards, and especially not masculine birthday cards.  I really should work up my stash one of these days.

I love how this card came together.  I did a lot of paper piecing with the scooter and then colored the rest with my copics.  This paper from My Mind's Eye is the perfect paper for creating birthday cards.

Hope to see your creation over at Blogger's Challenge today.
*************************************************
Card details:
Stamps: Scootin' By from Sweet Stamp Shop

Embellishments: Dimensionals from Stampin'Up!, KaiserCraft Silly Season Jewels

I whipped up a quick card to share as well (not birthday related) using a few challenges.  This card came together pretty fast and I love when I can do that!

I used the current color combination at The Play Date Cafe (black, white & splash of green) along with the Paper Player's Challenge (sketch).

The sentiment stamp is a limited edition stamp I received this week from Clear & Simple Stamps, perfect for Thank you cards.
