Take Flight
Today I'm super excited! While you are reading this I'm at work, but I will be heading to visit our Blogger's Challenge "Mom" this afternoon at the York, PA Heirloom Stamp Show. Looking forward to visiting with Lisa and meeting lots of new friends at the show and visiting with some older ones as well.
This week our theme is "Take Flight" and I had the perfect card already made for this challenge. I created over 20 cards for the last Paper Crafts call, but sadly not one of them were picked up. I'm keeping positive in the face that I have lots of wonderful cards already created that I have to share on my blog in the next few months.
Since I already had created this card, I thought I would add another one to the mix using a different theme, but the same color scheme.
Card details:
Stamps: Love in the Air by Our Craft Lounge
Cardstock: Summer Sunrise, Night of Navy, Gina K. Luxury White, Authentique-Genuine
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black, Night of Navy, copics
Embellishments: SU Rhinestones colored with B93 copic, dimensionals
**********************************************************
Again, I combined a few challenges on the card above and the sketch definitely had me stumped with the two little "wing" pieces. Following my goal of being timely in participating in the Sketch For You to Try for the year.
I started off with a favorite stamp of mine, the Sweet Pea set from There She Goes and decided to go against my natural instinct of grabbing my black or brown ink and used my True Blue Fan from Clear & Simple Stamps instead. I didn't add a variety of color to the flowers, just wanted to go with the yellow.
I punched some small holes on either side of the flowers and tied my twine through there. I saw on someone's blog (and now I can't remember whose it was...my apologies) using a pearl on top of the button and loved it. I colored my pearl with my copic marker.
If you have stuck with me through all this, thank you! Hope you enjoyed the artwork and that you will join us for Blogger's Challenge this week.

GGSC120: Fourth of July
Today we are celebrating Fourth of July over at Going Grey with Scrap-Creations. I grabbed a set I had just received from Sweet Stamp Shop- God Bless America.
I will say I was kind of stumped how to best use this heart flag stamp but think it turned out well. I love the sentiments in this set and it's only fitting that I used the Operation Write Home sketch with this set. How cool is it that it even has an OWH stamp in it for you to put on the back?
Hope you will join us this week over at Going Grey with Scrap-Creations and show us your Fourth of July creations.

Have I told you...
Here is a sampling of one of the new sets from The{Stamps}of Life, quote2love, which I love and can't wait to share the rest of my creations with you!
I created my own background paper on this card using the love2hug set and the Color Box by Stephanie Barnard in Strawberry. I stamped off once to get the lighter colors.
This uses the CPS#249 Sketch for this week, getting in just in the nick of time.
The back of my card is stamped with another of the new releases, the created4you set. I don't normally stamp the back of my cards, but think I will be doing that from now on. I really love the look of it, and this year I hope to send out more cards instead of hoarding them and feeling overwhelmed at the end of the year with so many cards I've created or swapped for.
Want to see some more fantastic creations with the new sets, you can check them out over at The {Stamps} of Life gallery.

SDC44: Shimmer, Glimmer, Glitter & Glitz
Over at Stampotique Designer's Challenge we are on week 2 of our challenge and Val was our hostess. She challenged us to break out our "Shimmer, Glimmer, Glitter and Glitz" using shimmery paper, glittery embellishments, glimmery paints/washes/spritz or any kind of glitzy bling in your creations....let your inspiration shine!
This week is our last challenge where you can use ANY stamps.
For my card I started off by embossing Jo's Star in silver and then spraying my background with Shimmer Spritz in Sparkle (hard to see in the photo). I thought Grace would look great with pink and silver so I paper pieced her little dress and added on the crown adorned with silver stickles.
Hope you will join us over at Stampotique Designer's Challenge for a chance to win a $30 gift certificate for stamps at Stampotique.
IMPORTANT NOTE FOR 2012 REGARDING CHALLENGES:
Beginning with our first challenge the 2nd Wednesday in 2012, we will be a STAMPOTIQUE only challenge. We will no longer host our any stamps challenge, you must use ONLY Stampotique stamps on your creations to be eligible for the prize. We greatly appreciate all that have supported us throughout 2011 and look forward to seeing your work with Stampotique in 2012.

Trust in the Lord
Oh it has been a challenging weekend here with the kiddos! The attitudes have been in full swing and what I hoped would be a nice day of shopping (to get clothes for picky kids) turned out to be a partial bust. I got them to cooperate with getting most of the clothes picked out before temper tantrums began and we exited the store, got kids situated in car before I ran back in to buy the clothes.
I've been trying to participate in the Hope You can Cling to Challenges over on SCS and originally I was going to use this one for the pink collage but decided to use it for the Brave Heart challenge hosted by va. sunshine aka Teresa-HYCCT1112 Brave Heart- Use a Heart on a Creation. I combined it with the Card Patterns Sketch #136.
I adore this new paper from My Mind's Eye, it is truly my favorites right now and I have a hard time NOT wanting to use it all up.
Hoping today will be a better day for us, we'll be outside all day at a baseball tournament, the weather is supposed to be decent and the kids will have friends to play with. Hope your Sunday will be a pleasant one as well.

Birthday Buddy
This weekend I hunkered down in my stamp room and I created a few cards, most of them for the Hope You Can Cling To Challenges over at Splitcoast Stampers. I was loving that I finally had a productive night stamping but got so tired early and gave up.
This is for the first challenge HYCCT1101A hosted by Lydia (Understandblue) to make a pink critter. I also used the Skipping Stones Sketch #96
I had made another card last weekend when I was stamping with Libby but didn't love it, so started all over again and really like how this turned out, simple but cute.
Card details:
Stamps: Birthday Buddies, Sentiment Sampler from Paper Smooches
Cardstock: Whisper White, Mauved by the Paparazzi, My Mind's Eye Lost & Found- Blush
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, copic markers
Embellishments: Designer Mix buttons from Clear & Simple Stamps, Spellbinders Nestabilities Circle and Pinking Circle dies, Pink Sorbet twine from The Twinery

Rock 'N' Roll Party
Invitations have been on my mind lately, not sure why and not a specific invitation, but invitations in general.
So, with that in mind, how about a Rock 'n' Roll Party?? I think maybe I need to break out my Wii and play some Guitar Hero or Rock Band to get my mind off this guitar LOL!
I stamped the guitar from the Guitars2Play set first on my kraft and then on white and cut it out. I colored the inside with my copic and then stamped a few notes and my invitation on the outside. The punched holes to hold it closed was an after thought, but it makes it easy to slide the bow holding it on and off so that you don't have to untie it to open in.
I left the inside blank to fill out later. I stamped my frame first on the white cardstock in the middle and then on a post it note, cut around it and then placed it over my original inked journal square. I inked up my background from the Animals2Print set and stamped over the post it note. I was going to sew the pocket closed but decided in the end to use some scor-tape to close it and then stamp these circle borders from the Borders4Me up the side.
Want to see more samples of the new sets available or any set with The{Stamps}of Life? Head on over to the gallery where you can see over 3000 samples from the design team and fans of TSOL.

All Things Grow With Love
Another challenge I haven't played in awhile was over at CAS-ual Fridays. This week I was immediately drawn to the challenge as they were joining forces with one of my other favorites, Clean & Simple FTL.
Some of my sets are neglected and collecting dust so I broke one out this weekend using the Everyday Button Bits for this set. I wanted to created a sunflower look and saw this color combination in the Card Ideas for Card Makers magazine so I used the leaf petals in the set to create the sunflower look.
I wish I would have done my sentiment a little differently as it looks a bit crammed, but this color combo is one I will be trying again and again.
We had a wonderful Saturday at one of Syd's friends birthday party in which the whole family was invited and we spend the day at the lake having fun swimming, riding the ski-do's and just having a great time with friends. Looking forward to hanging around the house today, but not looking forward to the mounds of laundry.

Happy Birthday with Rosie-Blogger's Challenge
Blogger's Challenge Friday with one of my favorite themes- a sketch challenge. Although I would love to say this card came easy for me, I was doing it in bits and pieces and kept on changing some things.
I colored this image from Lili of the Valley months ago and had it sitting on my stack of things to put together. I loved the colors and they worked perfectly with the new Play Date Cafe Challenge this week. I had to alter one of my colors to make it a little bit darker on my image but think it turned out great. I wanted to use some of the new lattice rectangles that I recently added to my spellbinders collection, they worked out great for the 2 rectangles in the sketch.
I ran my creamsicle cardigan paper through the cuttle bug with the Swiss dots folder to give it some more dimension against the lattice rectangles. I decided to put some Lilac twine from The Twinery on the rectangles, some stickles on the stars and the candle. At the last minute I added some 3D Crystal Lacquer onto the cake icing.
The two opposite sides looked a little bare so I included a sentiment and on the side opposite put some orange creative candy.
If you'd like to play along with this weeks Bloggers Challenge, please link back to this post on your blog and mention you created your card for the Bloggers Challenge Sketch Challenge. Please add your link using the Linky Tool on any of the blogs. Please post your direct link to your Bloggers Challenge Post, not just a link to your blog. Please do not link to cards that were created prior to the challenge date. Entries not linking properly, or backlinked will be removed.
