Blogger's Challenge: Sketch

Better late than never right?  I'm a bit behind this week from traveling for work and procrastinating, but I finally got my card finished last night.  It's one that is a little out of my comfort zone, but I like how it turned out.

This week's blogger's challenge is a sketch.  I'm usually all over these as they are my favorite, but Lisa loves her layers and this one stumped me just a little.  I decided that the sketch is my starting point and I took a few liberties changing the focal image to a rectangle instead of keeping it square.  I also flipped the sketch.

I first embossed my image on watercolor paper and then started coloring it with my Aquapainter and inks.  As I was going along I would wipe it off and put more color on until I achieved the colors I wanted.  I'm thinking next time I'd do the darker color throughout and a brighter color on the flower.

Want to join us at Blogger's Challenge this week?  Just create something with the sketch above and link in below with a direct link to your creation.

BC198: Black/White/Red

Our challenge this week was to use black/white/red.  This is definitely the time of the year for this color combination and I seem to be using it a lot lately for Valentine's cards or any other card.

I love how the red always seems to POP so much  more with black and white.  I broke out a set I've had since before Christmas but have not touched, this Flower Sentiments from Inkadinkado.  I got it at Michael's when they were having one of their big stamp sales.

The sketch is the current Card Patterns Sketch 100 , I love all the layers for this card and the layout of it.

Hope you will join us for the blogger's challenge.  Just link up your card below and make sure to direct  your readers to the blogger's challenge on your blog posting.  The more that play the merrier :-)

Happy Friday!

Technostamper's Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge #60

Of course I have to be DIFFERENT, I had to turn Mary Jo's sketch and it was NOT an easy one for me. I've struggled with the image to use, but finally found one that worked. 3rd time is a charm!

I pulled out my Patterned Birds & Bugs by Inkadinkado and the color challenge from Kristina Werner from a from last week. I loved all the creations everyone came up with using these colors, they were gorgeous!

I did some paper piercing on this (freehand) and of course had to use some nestabilities and some of those primas I seem to hoard all the time.

Join us in MJ's challenge and post to Mr. Linky on her site or to SCS using keyword TSSC60

Patterned Birds & Bugs/SASSC2

If you haven't realized it by now, I have a hard time getting away from pink, blue, green color combination. My office is that color and I absolutely *LOVE* working with these colors.

I sat down and colored this new image the other night. I just received a few sets from Stamper's Dream and this Patterned Birds & Bugs by Inkadinkado was one of them. The set is fantastic and can't wait to use more of them.

This card was for Stamps & Smiles Sketch Challenge #2. They have some darling new stamps to be released soon. Join in the challenges, they are giving away the whole new release to one who does all the challenges. I have some catching up to do but I'm not too far behind.
