Mr. Snow

Blogger's Challenge this week was a sketch that our list Mom, Lisa created for us.  At first look I thought I might be too challenged with the size of the sketch card.  It's not the "normal" size card I do, so I just decided to sit down and go with it.

I chose to rotate the sketch and combined it with the Playdate Cafe Challenge this week of using green & melon.  I followed the DT's lead on that challenge and went with the holiday theme.

I chose a pretty simple image, using Mr. Snow and paper piecing his tie with some Jovial design paper from Basic Grey.  I decided not to color any of it and just let his tie stand out but now that I look at it, I may color his hat and nose to make him POP a little more.  I stamped my background with some snowflakes from the Winter set in Berry Sorbet to create a contrasting background to the Green papers.  I sewed around the green/Jovial panel-I'm so happy to have my sewing machine in order again!

Hope you will check out the rest of the blogger's today and see how they used the sketch.  You can see their links here.

Happy Friday!

Card details:
Stamps: Mr. Snow and Happy Holidays from Stampotique, Winter from Clear & Simple Stamps
Cardstock: Garden Green, Berry Sorbet, Confetti White, Basic Grey Jovial
Inks: Berry Sorbet, Versafine Onyx Black
Accessories: Janome Sewing, Rhinestone Brads-Ice Circle with brad piece removed, Webster's Pages ribbons/laces

Such an adorable card! I love how you incorporated 2 challenges, and the paper-pieced snowman (let alone any snowman!) is wearing the same tie as your background paper!

I love all the little extras on the card - the red crochet ribbon - the paper piecing of the tie - all the colors in the matting - it's great. It almost makes me look forward to snow!
