Blogger's Challenge: Birthday Theme

Blogger's Challenge today was a Birthday Theme and I've had this one done for a few weeks.  Lucky for me, it was my daughter's birthday last week and so we had to get these invitations done early.

I chose a cute image from Tiddly Inks that would reflect the cake decorating party we were having.  It was a blast and the invitations were relatively simple to put together.  The poem was found online and I just changed a few lines to fit what I needed.  I printed the invitation on some Whisper White cardstock and then printed the image.  I colored the image with my Copic markers. Some crystal lacquer was added to the cake and some glitter to the candles.

I did finish the insides as well with all details of the party, which we had a blast at but brought home WAY too much cake.  Here's a cute little pic of the birthday girl with the cake she decorated.

If you would like to join us for our blogger's challenge, link up over at our list Mom's blog or below so we can see what you create using the Birthday theme.

Invitation Details:
Stamps: Big Wishes Lilly Bean from Tiddly Inks
Cardstock: Lovely Lilac, Whisper White
Inks: Copic markers
Accessories: Crystal lacquer, dazzling diamonds, two way glue pen

Thinking of You

This year I have really been trying to play a little in my studio as well as get some projects done.  I was asked by a co-worker to make a few cards and one she requested was a "Thinking of You" with a pink theme.  I came across Poppy from Tiddly Inks in my digital files and thought she would be beautiful for a Thinking of You card.

Poppy was the perfect size for the Unscripted Sketch #88 this week.  I can't believe in 11 days how many different sketches I've saved in my files already and I sit and debate which one I'm going to use when I sit down to stamp.  This year I really need to try my hand at NOT using so many sketches and just winging it.

My flower embellishment is recycled from an adorable notebook I received as a gift, but I loved it and wanted to reuse it.  The sentiment is from a wonderful set I just received from Clear & Simple Stamps, a Limited Edition Thinking of You set.  I love how bold these letters are on this sentiment.

After I got done making this, I debated keeping it as I liked it so much.  Hope my friend will like it as well.

Card details:
Stamps: Poppy from Tiddly Inks, Thinking of You Limited Edition set from Clear & Simple Stamps
Cardstock: Whisper White, Bittersweet from Basic Grey
Inks: Copics, Perfect Little Black Dress
Accessories: Hero Arts gemstones, recycled flower embellishment

Think Pink with Going Grey

Happy Tuesday!  Today over at Going Grey with Scrap-creations our theme is to Think Pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  Choose a card & create with pink.

I made this card to mail to a friend who is volunteering in a 3 Day Event soon.  She volunteers every other year and the years she doesn't volunteer she walks.  I admire her strength for walking for this wonderful cause that a lot have been affected by.  Our family has lost a good friends mother, a friend, and know others who have been affected by it.  I hope she'll like the mail she receives while she is there.

Tiddly Inks is sponsoring our challenge this week and offering a $10 gift certificate to one random winner.   We were able to pick images to work with...and I couldn't stop picking them.  I love them and downloaded a ton of them to work with.  She has a sale going on right now where you can receive 20% off a $15 or more order.  Once you start shopping you might have a hard time stopping!

I chose the Chi girl to work with as she looked like she had a cute ribbon wrapped around her.  I used a limited edition sentiment from Clear & Simple Stamps.

Hope you will join us over at Going Grey with Scrap-creations this week with your Think Pink creations.
