Hope you all don't get sick of my birthday card postings :-) This week our blogger's challenge theme was pattern paper. I saw this cool card in one of my magazines that used layers of patterned paper and wanted to try that.
I used my the My Mind's Eye Tickled Pink papers to create this card, cutting 1.5" strips in different patterns, punching the scallops and then sewing them on a white card front before adhering to the certainly celery.
Considering we are having a cake decorating party for Sydney tonight, I thought the cupcake banner from the Banners4all set from The {Stamps}of Life. I paper pieced the vase and popped it up over the stamped image that was on my patterned paper to give it a little dimensional look. I used the rolled flower as I really wanted it to stand out against the papers as well and added a little spot to the middle of it.
Sydney had a great birthday last night and is looking forward to being with her friends tonight at her cake decorating party and her Justin Bieber cake.
Oh, how her face lights up when she sees pictures of him, even at 5!!
Want to join us for the blogger's challenge? Hop on over to Lisa's blog and add your card into the Mr. Linky. We would love to see what you create with the patterned papers, be creative, it doesn't just have to be on a card!
