Well, la de frickin' da!

I saw this sentiment and knew that I had to have it and how perfect to pair it with Moth Fab from Stampotique? I love their funky style and images!!! The sentiment is also from Stampotique and I can forsee myself using this far too much :-)

I pulled out a sketch from Toy's Haven that I thought would be perfect for this image and sentiment. I love her sketches and have them all saved for a rainy day.

My girlfriend and sister-in-law both came over on Saturday for some stamping therapy. Pathetically I only got a few cards done as hubby was gone so I was running around after kids until he got home. By then we were close to being done and I was ready to plop my hind end back on the couch to finish watching the movie I had rented: Sex in the City. I loved it!!! I used to rent the DVD's and take them on my business trips and watch them at night on my laptop. I didn't get out to see it in the theater but I'm kind of glad I watched it at home as I was hormonal and crying for some reason...because I loved it!!!

I borrowed some patterned paper from my friend so I'm not positive who it is made from, but think she said Daisy D's. I watercolored Moth Fab with my aquapainter and inks (Green Galore, Lavendar Lace and Only Orange) to match the same cardstock I used. I cut out the circle shape with my nestabilities and it worked PERFECTLY!!! I only wished as I'm sitting here looking at it I'd have added a brad or something to the very middle of it.

Hope you enjoy!
Kim

Whiff of Joy/Mystery Image

This is the stamp that our wonderful host Stefanie Summerersent us this month. I'm not big into holiday stamps as I never seem to use them, but I did like this image from Whiff of Joy.

I used SCS SC194 for this card. The patterned paper and cardstock is from Close to My Heart's Just Chillin' Paper pack. I also used some retired cranberry crisp paper from Stampin'Up!

I chose to coordinate Charlotte's clothes with the patterned paper I chose, which I love! I topped off her had and her scarf and a little of her skirt with some Ice Stickles.

I LOVE doing these mystery images as I get a feel for some other stamp companies and what images they offer.

Hope the recipients like their card!

World Alzheimer's Day/ Cammie's Heart to Heart Blog Candy

I had some time today while the baby was napping (he's sick...again) so I decided to do the SCS SC195 along with the goal to send a thank you to my grandmother's hospice house in honor of World Alzheimer's Day for Cammie's Heart to Heart Blog Candy. Definitely check out all the goodies someone might be able to win by simply sending a card in thanks for all the hard work the nurses, aides, etc. do to help those suffering with Alzheimer's.

I also put together about 50 cards for the house to use as they wish for the nursing staff or to use with the resident's. I put some envelopes with each of the cards, almost all of them extras I've made from swaps or what not. I hope that they will be able to use them.

Card Details:

Stamps: Just Rite Stamper, small letters
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Bella Rose, Old Olive, Rose Red
Inks: Rose Red, Old Olive, Versafine Onyx Black
Accessories: Black Brads, Nestabilities Circles and Scallops

Thank you cards

Here were a few more thank you notes I made for my girlfriend based on the Verve Visual sketches, although I didn't follow them exactly. My friend loved them and her Mom did as well. I realized how many more cards I would really like to give away.

What do you do with your cards that you have made, swapped, etc.? I'm no longer a demo so I have just been collecting cards. I'm thinking I may send a box of them to the nurses who are caring for my Grandmother at a hospice house for Cammie's blog giveaway . Make sure to check it out, she has some fabulous goodies on there!

He arrived 12 1/2 weeks early weighing 2 lb. 9 oz. and his Daddy's wedding ring used to slide right over his little hand and he wore it like a bracelet. He's independent, loving, has a mind of his own sometimes, but is a good kid who loves his family. He also loves to get mail, see details below.

Birthday Thanks!

I received some awesome cards this week for my birthday. The first one I received is from Melanie Gomez who is part of my Swappin'Divas group. Love the colors she used on this card.

The next card using The Cat's Pajama's is from the talented Bonnie Ratzloff. You can see more of Bonnie's work here.

Thank you ladies for making my day special! I also received some awesome blog candy from Jeanne Streiff from Inky Paws, I haven't used the new stamp she sent me, but need to get on the ball and do some stamping here soon!

I never thought birthdays would affect me, but I tell you this one has been bad, I've been so emotional and I'm still young (okay, I'm turning 21 again). My son will be turning 9 tomorrow and I had been in the hospital celebrating my birthday when I got a little too excited and started having contractions (luckily they stopped them and he held off for 5 more days).

Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes! Have a great week! I'm doing some online shopping for new stamps sets so I'll have some new things to share in the upcoming weeks!

Shower Card

This past weekend I got to visit with my bestest friend from grade school and some other friends, attending her shower. It was a lot of fun, very relaxing, with lots of laughs. She's so cute and I relished in the memories of being pregnant for the first time, feeling overwhelmed and overjoyed all at the same time.

She looks so cute as she's tiny and has this little basketball growing out, and she still has about 12 weeks to go. She loved the thank you cards I made for her, and I wish I had time to do more, but I didn't. I have some other things in mind for her though ;-)

I'm thrilled as they will be out here in less than a month and although she'll still be over an hour away, it's a lot closer than a visit every few years!!!

Here is the card I made (last minute) inspired by Kristina Werner. I attempted my hand at sewing but got frusterated with my sewing machine and not being able to thread it correctly (thank God my Mom will be here this weekend). Needless to say I broke out the needle and thread.

This has to be one of my favorite sets Baby Love from Cornish Heritage Farms. I used my aquapainters, Cool Carribean cardstock and inks (retired), Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery and Barely Banana. My patterned paper is from a scrapbook kit from Close to my Heart which matched the card perfectly.

I miss stamping but have been swamped with work, travel, birthdays, family coming in to town so I have been otherwise occupied but hoping next week I'll have some more down time (is that wishful thinking??).

Baby Thank You's

I'm sorry these pictures are horrible, it was dark and dreary most of the day today.

I am heading to my friends baby shower this week and I wanted to make her some thank you cards so these are pretty simple ones. It only took me a few hours to make 30 of them, I made 5 of each animal using my Kim Hughes Baby Love from Cornish Heritage Farms along with various forms of Thank you's. I used some Fabriano cards I've had for a little while and also my nestabilities.

I've got some more that I did as well this weekend when I was working on Verve Visual's challenge but screwed up so just went my own way on the sketches.

Don't forget to check out the post on the top for some blog candy!

Circle Card Challenge

A few friends and I were challenged to do an ornament card. I had a little bit of a tough time with this as I really didn't want to do a Christmas related one and I really wasn't sure how to embellish this once I got it done, so I left it as is.

I used my largest coluzzle circle to cut this with and then did a solid circle for the back. The two circles are held together with the round tab punch which I folded in half and adhered to the front circle and back one. I used some Basic Grey Pheobe paper for the base of it. I had just gotten my order of QT Hooty Owl from Pink Cat Studios so used that. Colored all the owls with my inks and aquapainters.

Have a wonderful weekend and make sure to check out my other post about blog candy!

Birthday invitations and BLOG CANDY!!!

This year my little baby is turning 9!!! Seems like just yesterday that we were in a panic when he decided he wanted to arrive early. Not just a few days early, no just a few weeks, a few months early!

Tristan (named after Brad Pitt in Legends of the Fall) is big into sports. We play football and travel baseball right now so our weekends are usually consumed by running him all over. I let him pick out what types of things he wanted on his invitations this year which I made postcard style (I didn't photo the back of it which was just printed on the computer).

He picked out this cute owl I just got from Pink Cat Studios called Q.T. Hooty Owl along with the colors of the football team he plays for. I printed out the "9" on the computer and then used my Just Rite little letter stamps to stamp the announcement. I found after playing with my self-inker that the little letters do not work well in that but perfectly in the wood stamper. I love the possibilities with the little letters and can't wait to play more with it!
