Bloggers Challenge: Week #43/Chipboard

This week our goal was to use chipboard on our card/project. I'm behind this week and hope to get caught up. Hopefully the bug my little girl caught takes a quick exit here soon...it's been a long day/night.

I had this idea in my head all week thinking about this project and then of course once I started it; it looked different than what I had been thinking about. Oh well, I'm not the best at creations with chipboard, I'm always stumped at how to cover them and get them to look good.

I colored my chipboard tag piece with a chocolate chip marker to give it a "leather" feel. I embossed the apple in the chipboard piece using my versamark pad and my SU! markers. I was proud of myself for doing some embossing, I never seem to pull out the heat gun and embossing powder.

The layout I used is based on Jen Delmuro's sketch challenge. I never seem to know what to do with my patterned paper and this was a good way to use a few different patterns on one card.

Enjoy!

Technostamper's Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge #14

Mary Jo's challenge this week was fun, I really enjoyed it and my card came out fairly well even if it was my 3rd try ;-) My other ones just didn't give me the ummmphhh I wanted them too.

Unfortunately I'm still behind on my challenges, I really had every intention of doing the Blogger's challenge this week but got a tad behind with work and swaps that I was doing at the SCS get together this weekend, and then my youngin' got a stomach bug that kept us on the run all day and night yesterday...so while she sleeps today I hope to squeeze in my other challenge which I already have the idea in my head.

Card Details:
Stamp Set: Small Sayings, Bud Basics
Cardstock: Basic Black, Real Red, Whisper White, Silver patterned paper unknown
Inks: Basic Black, Real Red, Silver, Wild Wasabi
Accessories: Marvy Uchida punches, red velvet ribbon

Technostamper's Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge #13

This week I decided that my first card was very bland, which there was nothing wrong with it; this sketch was such an easy one, I opted to step it up just a little.

Mary Jo's sketch is to the left, very simple. I really like it a lot and will definitely use it again and again.

The card in the middle was my 2nd card that I did, which I also used the color combo website to help me with the colors. The one on the right, I also did for a challenge on one of my groups which was to use Time Well Spent.

Card #2 Details:
Stamp Set: Friendship Blooms
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Gable Green
Inks: Basic Black, Gable Green, Almost Amethyst, Tempting Turquoise
Accessories: Key Tag Punch, Rhinestone Brads, White Signo Gel Pen

Card #1 Details:
Stamp Set: Time Well Spent, Heartfelt Thanks
Cardstock: Cool Carribean, Pixie Pink, Basic Black
Inks: Basic Black, Cool Carribean, Pixie Pink
Accessories: Card is AMuse, aquapainter w/inks, key tag punch

Thanks for checking out my cards, make sure to look at Mary Jo's challenge, join in if you like or see what the others have created.

Sketch Challenge 152 & Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge

Some of my girlfriends are in Cape Cod this weekend and I didn't get to go this year with the baby...but am already planning for next year. They had some virtual challenges this weekend so I figured I'd plop my butt in the chair and do some stamping (or as much as I could squeeze in with the kids sleeping). This is a card for someone who had a baby (I had posted the previous card I was going to send but didn't like it). This image is SU! but I don't remember the name, my friend stamped some images for me to use so I had a few colored up today.

This was for the SCS152 sketch challenge and also for Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge. I really liked the colors that were chosen for this!

Card details: Stamp set from SU! but retired and not sure of name (sorry), Bundled in Love (Welcome baby), Alphabits
Cardstock: Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie, Soft Sky, Tempting Turquoise, Gable Green
Inks: Various inks to color in characters, black staz-on
Accessories: Various circle punches, paper piercer, turquoise grosgrain ribbon, brads

Mystery Image Swap

On one of the yahoo groups I belong to we have been doing a "mystery image" swap where we are all sent an image by one of the members and we each make a card to send to another member with the image. This one was fun and it was the first time I made a flap card. On the inside it says "Just sitting here thinking about you"

I can't tell you much about the card other than it is a Hambo stamp that was used. I used pink passion and close to cocoa paper, not sure who makes the patterned paper I used. The scalloped circle and circle punch are Marvy Uchida and I used my colored pencils to color in the duck. I added some crystal effects to the water the duck is sitting in.

Hope you liked it and check out some of the other members who participated:

Ida who was our mystery image hostess
Kerry our yahoo group owner
Leigh who amazes me with her coloring skills

Technostamper's Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge #12

This week the sketch was an easy one. I actually did this card in less than 1/2 hour but that was because my wonderful friend Stefanie supplied me with some adorable stamped images that needed some coloring. Now if she would have watercolored it, it would have looked a lot better as she amazes me with her watercoloring skills.

I chose to leave this without a sentiment, as I wanted to stamp one inside instead of cluttering the front.

Here is Mary Jo's sketch challenge this week. If you wish to join, which I encourage you to do so, you can post a link here, on Mary Jo's post or to SCS under keyword TSSC12.

Card details:
Stamps: Stampendous
Cardstock: Summer Picnic DSP, Real Red, Basic Black, Whisper White, Old Olive
Inks: Old Olive, Real Red, Creamy Caramel, Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue (reinkers w/ aquapainters)
Accessories: Crystal Effects on strawberries and cherries, liquid applique on cupcake frosting, real red brads, 1/2" and 3/4" circle punches

Blogger Challenge, Week #41

This week our challenge was to use the layout on p. 65 in the Spring/Summer Catalog. I liked this layout a lot so I decided to do 2 cards. Don't laugh...one of them is a baby card. We just found out today that my BFF is expecting and they had been trying for awhile so we are elated. Now to wait to find out of if it's twins or more.

The card on the left I used a few different sets: CTMH Nursery Bash for the ducks, SU! Absolutely Fabulous and Rubber Soul baby set. I forget who makes the patterned paper. Cardstock colors are certainly celery, chocolate chip, soft sky, whisper white and I believe it's rose romance which is retired. Ribbon is uknown. I also used the word window punch, scalloped punch and 1 1/2" punch.

The other card was easy, I tried to make it very simple. It uses the unfrogettable set by SU! with some leftover cardstock from CTMH.

Make sure you check out the other bloggers by clicking here.

Have a great week, it's Spring Break here...not that we have a thing planned.

I had this image colored for quite a few days and just couldn't decide what colors to use it with. I decided to use the SCS Color Challenge #159 (Going Gray, Soft Sky and Whisper White) along with a sketch from Julee Tillman for her Mojo Monday challenge. I really liked how it turned out, simple and clean looking.

Stamp Sets: Print Pattern, Treasure Friendship sentiment by Amuse, Cat by Stampendous

Cardstock: Soft Sky, Whisper White, Going Gray

Inks: Versafine Onyx Black, So Saffron, Regal Rose, Bashful Blue, Glorious Green, Going Gray, Creamy Caramel

Accessories: Aquapainter, Amuse Creative Candy twinkle stickers, Marvy Uchida Scalloped punch and circle punch, twill tape colored with going gray marker, dimensionals

SCS Blogger RAK

I received a fabulous RAK from Amanda Sewell this past week and finally just got a photo of it. Amanda has a very creative blog called Inkspirations; I highly recommend you check it out.

This card has a little wheel that spins around and changes images, it's very cool!!!
Thanks for thinking of me Amanda!

Let each person know by leaving a comment on their Blog.Ok, seven random facts about me? Here we go ....
I've done this one before and can't remember what the 7 random facts were, but here goes:
1. I'm now addicted to Guitar Hero on the Wii and have been perfecting the "easy" performance...my favorite song to play: Welcome to the Jungle
2. I love Pepsi. I gave it up when I was pregnant (except for the occasional one) but since having the last baby, I'm back to it...the taste of Diet just isn't the same
3. My husband and I met and started dating in high school. We both were dating others when we figured out that's not what we wanted (to be dating others).
4. My oldest son predicted what our future children would be (daughter than son). He's got this weird sense about him and he remembers the oddest things...a lot from when he was a baby (preemie days)
5. We tried for 2.5 years to get pregnant with our first son with the help of fertility treatments, our 2nd and 3rd child were big SUPRISES to us, but welcome suprises.
6. I never finished college, but hope to go back some day. I was 10 classes shy of graduating when I was put on bedrest and then ended up dropping out when I had my son 12 1/2 weeks premature.
7. I love music and listen to my IPOD all day while I'm working...and listen to the same darn stuff over and over again. Chris Isaak, Tom Petty, John Mayer are a few that are always on my IPOD.
