Click Collection

Last night I got on a roll creating some cards using my new sets from Mama Elephant and For the Record 2 papers from Echo Park.  Bear with me as this will be a heavy post full of cards.  Come back tomorrow as I'll share with you how I packaged up this set.

The first one uses a new sketch challenge- CAS(E) this sketch!  The sketch was very clean and simple-loved how quick this card came together although for the life of me I can't find my 1" circle die and my punch is kaput.

Don't you love that little washi tape stamp under the sentiment??

***************************************************
For this card I stamped two of the balloons on patterned paper and fussy cut them and the polka dot one is a stamp from the Good Times set.  Loving this new Lawn Fawn trimmings twine I got, nice and thick and ties easily as well.

***************************************************
Getting in right in the knick of time with the current Retro Sketches challenge.  My cameras ended up being a little off kilter on this one, not so much centered...but I'm ok with that (this time anyway).  This was a fun sketch to do.

My card uses a different set this time from Mama Elephant called We Click. I think I was sold on this set from the sentiment alone.

Ardyth's challenge over at Hope You can Cling to today is to be inspired by one (or more) of the vital signs (heart beat/pulse, temperature, blood pressure or breathing).  My card uses blue for cold (temperature) and hearts in the cameras (for heart beat/pulse)

 ***************************************************
The sentiment in this set really cracks me up!  I wanted to keep with the same theme as my other cards so I cut the scallop part  out of the paper itself and think it turned out perfectly.  The Hope You Can Cling to Challenge for yesterday was from Lynn to use a decorative edge on your card.

The sketch is from Skipping Stones Designs and I put to use some of this gorgeous May Arts Crochet White ribbon.

 ***************************************************
This was probably the most difficult sketch for me to work with.  It's the current Fall-to-Layout and the while the design was so cool, I had the hardest time figuring out how to make it work.  I think I accomplished it.  I cut two strips of my yellow and cut them at the same angle, then flipped one so they were the opposite of one another on the card.  The little patterned strip was a left over piece of patterned paper. Another sentiment that just cracks me up.  This is the perfect set for teenagers.

 ***************************************************
Hope you enjoyed my card parade today, was fun to create some cards using the same papers, size, and stamps.

BC281: Fall

Today over at Blogger's Challenge we are working our way into Fall.  With the temperatures cooling off (just a little anyway) and the leaves about to start changing, and football season in full swing-we start thinking of FALL creations.

I sat down the other night to stamp and was on a roll.  That doesn't happen too often and I'm hoping that tonight will prove to be another one of those nights as I have a lot I want to get accomplished so that tomorrow night I can work on getting caught up on my Project Life album.

When I think of fall, it's the changing leaves here in GA that really make the season for me.  I love the cooler weather but my husband reminds me as I complain about how hot it is that soon I'll be complaining how cold it is (there is not heating or air in my little basement stamping area).

I pulled out this gorgeous tree from Clear & Simple Stamps called Happy Fall.  I created my little strip by coloring various copic markers on a strip of paper and blending them.  Once I was happy with that, I stamped the leave background randomly on it to create my pattered paper.

I combined a few different challenges for this card- I used the SSD144 Sketch but instead of adding a sentiment, I added the cute little park bench with squirrel on top.  The Paper Craft's Gallery Challenge this month is the Natural Element (I used twine and twill ribbon) and the Paper Player's Challenge this week is to use Leaves/Trees.

Hope it's cooling off where you are and that we'll see your fall creations over at Blogger's Challenge.

Happy Birthday

Gotta love a weekend with not a whole lot going on, plenty of time to spend relaxing and enjoying a few days off.  Although we did have a few things going on, they went well and we still had time to sit down and breathe in between.  I even got a nap in each day and some major cleaning done.

Both days I was able to work my way into my studio to get some stamping done which is always nice.  I've been pretty relaxed about posting to my blog on the weekends, it's slow in the blog world most weekends anyway and I never get around to all the blogs I want.

I pulled out an old sketch from Skipping Stones Design which happens to be one from Kim Kesti.  I love this sketch and changed the layout to landscape so it would fit my 3 images.  Love how this card turned out, the papers are some of my favorites and I like the overall design based on the sketch.

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and your Monday isn't starting off too shabby.

Thinking of you Friend

When you come across a sketch that you just love, what do you do?  I know I save all the sketches I like to my hard drive and have them going back a few years.  It's always nice to get a jump start on a card by seeing a sketch you like.

This was one that just drew me, nice and simple but leaves a lot to work with as well.  Another sketch I can see using over and over again and making a set of cards with.

This card uses a few limited edition sets from Clear & Simple Stamps.  I love this color combo with Kraft, Purples and Green/Moss/Pear like color.  I added some Crystal Ice stickles to the one butterfly to make it stand out from the others.

Here are a few other challenges I'm playing in today:
7 Kids College Fund Challenge: Color Me Purple!

Hope you all are having a great Saturday!  We are heading out to a natural beauty pageant today to benefit one the Humane Society's in our area and then we'll be at baseball the rest of the weekend.

Today over at Stampotique Designer's Challenge our hostess for the last challenge of the year is Nellie and here is what she what she has challenged us with:

Almost 2012, a whole new year lies ahead of us.

This time of the year we tend to look forward, what are our dreams, wishes, hopes and things we want to achieve for the new year. What do we wish and hope for our dear ones. I challenge you to show us your dreams, wishes and hopes in a stamped project.

It’s a Stampotique stamps only challenge this time so grab you stamps and stamp! As always you can win a $30 dollar gift certificate for your choice of free Stampotique stamps.

This is what I wish for you: a colourful year in which you go confidently in the direction of your dreams!

I chose the word "FLY" on my card to encourage me to branch out, try new things and soar.  I hope that my children will also do the same, I always encourage them that they can do anything, no matter what it may be...the sky is the limit.

I combined the SDC with the Skipping Stones Sketch #108 for this card.

GGSC94: First Snow

Today over at Going Grey with Scrap-Creations is First Snow.  I had a lot of fun with this challenge on my days off last week, I was on a creating frenzy.

I had so much fun, I have 2 cards to share to you, both similar layouts and colors.

This first card is based off a sketch from Skipping Stones Designs and I also used one of the wonderful tutorials from Katie Gehring.  I adore this pleating ribbon and how it turned out although it did take me just a little while to complete.

The image I used is a digital image from Torico.  I added some platinum sparkly fluff to the snowman's hat.  This color scheme was based off the Playdate Cafe Challenge #110 but then realized I left one of the colors off so I created a 2nd card with all the correct colors.

I love how this card turned out, I used these awesome new supplies (to me) that I received from Cindy Lyles at StarLit Studio.  I won them from participating in the Hope You can Cling to Challenges over on SCS.  These are the Fancy Tags 2 and Want2Scrap Nestabling.

I've been working with the Our Craft Lounge images and love this little seahorse from Sea-Sons Greetings and it fit perfectly in the frame of the Fancy Tags.

The papers I seem to be turning to a lot these days for all my holiday cards is from Echo Park Season's Greeting collection which Pumpkin Spice Shop carries and is holding a design team call now.  They carry the 6 x 6 paper packs that I love to work with when making cards.

Thanks You Rock!

Today for Blogger's Challenge we are celebrating our Veteran's and Veteran's Day.  We have a few Veteran's in our family, my father was in the Army, my father-in-law served and my brother-in-law was in the Navy and our cousin is currently serving and our ring bearer at our wedding is as well.

Today we honor those that fight for our freedom.  We hope you will join us in creating a card for our servicemen who have served to protect us.

I kept this card free from embellishments using the Skipping Stones Designs sketch this week.  I love the stars in this set all4stars from The {Stamps}of Life, a variety of designs and sizes in the set which was perfect for creating my own background.

Want to join us this week for blogger's challenge?  Just link in here with your creation.

Friends

I wasn't able to stamp as much as I liked this weekend.  We had a fun celebration for my daughter's 5th and she loved her Justin Bieber cake.  I think all the kids who attended the party had a great time and I wish I had a seat at the table to decorate my own.

Saturday night I really wanted to go down into the studio to stamp but hubby & I were cleaning out the space under our stairs trying to declutter some more and I came down with a bad migraine, so off to bed I went.  Yesterday, I was finally able to make it into the studio for a little bit to make a card for a swap I'm doing.

We were to use the SSD58 sketch, which was easy for me as I had used this previously.  It was deciding the images, etc.  I decided to combine it with this weeks Playdate Cafe Challenge #65 which is the following color scheme:

Very difficult to see from my photos but their is grey in the card, with the patterned papers, it's layered on grey and the text I stamped is grey as well.

I added some glitter to my flowers and some Zva crystals below the sentiment and the very center of the flower.  I really wanted to emboss a sentiment in the focal circle but it didn't show as well so I ended up just coloring the flower and adhering it on the front.

Hope my friend's like it and don't see it here on my blog before they get it in the mail.

I'm being lazy about the details so just let me know if you have any questions about the card.

I never want to live without you

This week for blogger's challenge, our list Mom, Lisa gave us a color theme of brown, yellow and green.  I've had this paper sitting on my desk for about a week and a half now, knowing that I would use it for this challenge.

The challenge for me came in what set to use.  I kept on pulling out various sets and seeing what would look good before deciding on these images from Verve Stamps.  I used the layout from Skipping Stones Design this week as well.

The paper I used is from Basic Grey Wander and I used some of the new colors I just got from Clear & Simple Stamps- Green with Envy and Golden Tiara.  Loving the new colors they have to offer!!!

So here is my finished piece and you can't tell but the little chocolate blog is not a piece of melted chocolate on my card but it's a flower.  I couldn't get a great picture of it, but it does look much better in person.

Check out the other blogger's here to see how they used green, yellow and brown in their creations this week.

Home of the Brave

This week our list Mom challenged us to create with a Patriotic theme.  I knew exactly what set I wanted to use and decided to use up some new papers I just received from Die Cuts R Us.  If you haven't ordered from Claudia before she is fantastic!  I really needed some of the papers to work with this weekend for a craft fair and she had them shipped the following day.  I was thrilled!  The one thing I absolutely *love* ordering from her are her paper sample packs.  You get a little of everything without having to order a whole pack of paper.

Before I show you my card I thought I would share a picture of my 3 at Halloween.  The last few years, the oldest has been taking off to go with friends before we have even gotten everyone in their costumes so I was so excited this year that we all went together and I got a picture of all 3 of them together.

Finley as a shark, Tristan a scary clown and Syd is Little Miss Spider
We had a great time this year with friends trick or treating and was glad the weather wasn't too cold but it wasn't too warm either, just right!

Onto my card, which literally took me 10 minutes to stamp.  I'm still cramming for the holiday craft fair next weekend so wanted to stay focused on that.

Very simple card using the Skipping Stones Design Sketch #49 designed by Shannan Teubner.  It just seemed to fit this image perfectly.  I chose to leave the image open and only color the stars (which I know are not supposed to be red).  I wanted to give the image just a little POP against the backgrounds.  The one thing I love about clear stamps is the ability to shape them and for the Home of the Brave I just curved it to fit my image.

Make sure to check out the other blogger's to see what Patriotic creations they have come up with.
