Hello

Happy Thursday!  The weekend is thisclose to being here.  YEAH!!!

We had some rain this week so evening sports were canceled and I was able to sneak in some stamping.  Hoping this long holiday weekend I'll be able to get some time in doing some more as well so I'll have lots to share.

I grabbed a color and sketch challenge and made a quick set of 4 cards.  I love it when then the creation comes together so easily.  This week's Color Throwdown was not a color combo I'd reach for so it was working outside the box for me on this one, but like how it turned out.  I kept it very simple with the new Freshly Made Sketches for this week as well.

I used a set that is new to me from Papertrey Ink called Wonderful Words: Hello. I've used it a few times already-loving the die with the sentiments.  I grabbed some strips of cardstock and next time I use this sketch I think I'd throw in a patterned paper strip or maybe emboss them to add some texture.

Thanks for stopping by and have a safe holiday weekend!

Card details:
Stamps:  Papertrey Ink-Wonderful Words: Hello & Die
Inks:  Gina K. Designs amalgam ink obsidian, Distress Oxide Pickled Raspberry

Poppies & Flowers

This is the first slimline card I’ve made in years. I used the Poppy Bouquet stencils from #simonsaysstamp along with a sentiment from #stampemdous . I do love this color combo! #basementstamper #slimlinecards #stampemdous #simonsaystamp

While I had my Poppy Bouquet stencils from #simonsaysstamp out, I created another card using the #freshlymadesketches 429 along with a sentiment from #stampemdous . Another color combo I will have to use again. #basementstamper #stampemdous #simonsaystamp #freshlymadesketches

Of course I love creating with flowers as they are fun to color so I threw this one together using the Fusion Card Challenge using the sketch & inspiration along with the #simonstaysstamp Summer Garden set with a Stampendous sentiment and My Mind's Eye Flair Paper.  I fussy cut the flower out and used some dimensionals.

Tiles2Stamp

I have to say that I love The {Stamps} of Life sets, I love creating with them...but this set is OVER THE TOP AWESOME!!!

I absolutely had a creative time with them and was on a roll.  I love all the possibilities of this tile set!!

Hope you like the variety of cards, I've already got a little holiday stash going on, which is out of the norm for me.

I'm usually last minute Betty when it comes to creating Christmas cards, so when I saw this tile set I thought that a Christmas card would look pretty cool with it.  What do you think?

Card details:
Stamps: Tiles2Stamp, and Lights4Christmas from The {Stamps} of Life
Card Stock: Confetti White, Real Red, Basic Black, Glorious Green
Inks: Color Box by Stephanie Barnard in Licorice, Strawberry and Spearmint
Embellishments: Basic Grey enamel dots

My bows need some practice, this one took me forever!  The patterned to fill in the tiles give you so many options on how you want to create your card.  Whether it's the whole background on the card, or just a strip, these tiles are great.

Card details:
Stamps: Tiles2Stamp from The {Stamps} of Life
Card Stock: Crumb Cake, Tempting Turquoise
Inks: Color Box by Stephanie Barnard in Chocolate, Temping Turquoise
Embellishments: Chocolate Chip ribbon

I broke out my paper crimper for this one to create the little strip below the twine.  With the border pattern I wanted to add a little more to it, so I colored in the overlapping rectangles in black.

Card details:
Stamps: Tiles2Stamp and Snails2mail from The {Stamps} of Life
Card Stock: Whisper White, Pool Party So Saffron
Inks: Color Box by Stephanie Barnard in Licorice, Bermuda Bay, So Saffron, Pool Party
Embellishments: Black twine, paper crimper

Hello There Butterfly

Just a quick card to share today, I didn't stamp at all this weekend-this was a card I made for a publication call that was rejected.

I created the splattered pieces by spraying inks on a craft mat along with a few sprays of water and then put the card stock face down on the craft mat.

Once it was dried, I punched the circles and then sewed them onto the card stock.

I love the sentiments in this set.

Hope you have a Happy Monday!

Card details:
Stamps: Good Times from Mama Elephant
Cardstock: Pear Pizzaz, Rich Razzleberry, Basic Black and Naturals White from Stampin'Up!
Inks: Dylusions Spray in Pink Bubblegum, Fresh Lime and Vibrant Turquoise, Memento Tuxedo Black
Embellishments: Janome Sewing Machine, 1 1/4" circle punch-Stampin'Up!, Butterfly die from Paper Trey Ink

Flower Happy

If you are a follower of my blog you know how much I love floral images, so when I saw some fabulous images from Our Daily Bread Designs when I was at the York, PA show last weekend I had to pick some up.

This post is going to be quick as the kids and hubby are all gone and I've got to get some laundry done and in between hoping to get my stamp on.

My first card uses the CAS(E) this sketch and is for Bev's challenge to use lots of sparkle at Hope You Can Cling to Challenge at SCS.  I used my 2way glue pen and applied lots of glitter to my Poppies.

Card details:
Stamps: Crocheted Poppy from Our Daily Bread Designs, Sweet Pea from There She Goes Clear Stamps
Cardstock: Gina K. Luxury White
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black, copic
Embellishments: Art Glitter-crystal

My Happy Birthday card uses the die cut that coordinates with the image above.  Can't wait to use them together but since the other one was CAS, I didn't want to add another layer.

I tried my hand at the 10 minute craft dash challenge again, but this time I failed by completing this in 13:29 or somewhere close to that...all I know was I was over the 10 minute mark.  Darn embellishments!

Thanks to my friend Chera for pointing out these gorgeous ornate flowers that I was able to print out on my Silhouette cameo.

Card details:
Stamps: Treasured Words by Verve Stamps
Cardstock: Confetti White,  Tempting Turquoise, Pumpkin Pie, Paint the Town Pink, Authentique-Gathering
Inks: Tempting Turquoise, Paint the Town Pink

For my last card I created a pretty simple card using the Violet image from Our Daily Bread Designs as my focal point.  After finishing the card, I'm wishing I would have used a different background color as this is so light it was hard to capture the true color (a very pale purple).

Card details:
Stamps: Violet  from Our Daily Bread Designs, Good Times from Mama Elephant
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, VIP Purple, Gina K. Luxury White
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black, copic
Embellishments: Zva Creative Self-Adhesive Embellishment-Pearl White, Viva Pearl Pen-cream, dimensionals

Hope you have a great Saturday-off to change out the laundry!
