Just Us Girls Anniversary

Just Us Girls is celebrating their anniversary with an awesome sketch and lots of generous prizes.  I live for sketches like this in which it took me about 15 minutes to create this card and I love how it came together.

I used one of Clear & Simple Stamps limited edition breast cancer awareness stamps for this card as I know it would look great in the panel of the sketch.  For the middle panel I chose to stamp a few of the sentiments.  The ribbons were paper pieced with some coordinating patterned paper.  I topped off the card with some of the yummy I'm a Princess Pink ribbon.

You still have until tomorrow to join in on the fun with the Just Us Girls crew for your chance to win some great prizes, one of which is an Awareness Darling Goody package from Clear & Simple Stamps.

Just Us Girls sponsored by Clear & Simple Stamps

*if you are here for my Oh, Alice challenge, please scroll down to the next post.  Thanks!*

Can you believe it's almost September and before we know it Halloween will be here?  Do you have your costume picked out yet or have you thought about it at all?  What about the kids, that's always the hardest for me.

Today over at Just Us Girls, they have challenged us to create a project with a template.  Clear & Simple Stamps is sponsoring the challenge over at Just Us Girls and so I wanted to play along.  I had to think on this challenge as even though I've been designing for Clear & Simple Stamps for awhile now and I've worked with a lot of their templates, I was stumped as I wanted to make something with a Halloween theme.  So, I sifted through all my sets and pulled out a few of my sets that I thought would work for this challenge and I *LOVED* the results of my creation.

I started off looking for a template in Clear & Simple Stamps template section to find one that might work for Halloween (templates are located on the right hand side).  I came across the Leprachaun Hat Box and looked at it for a day or two before deciding I could alter it enough to make it work.  A few tweaks here and there and here is what I ended up with:

I stamped my Little Black Dress cardstock with my A Blanc Check ink using my Rock a Bye background set.  For the buckle I stamped the Wallflowers swirl background with my Orange You Fabulous ink and sponged the outsides of it.

I made a cute little tag to attach to the Witch's Hat Box by stamping the Glam Girl starts in Orange You Fabulous and stamping my sentiment from Month-to-Month Extras and tied some Orange You Fabulous ribbons.  I got the idea to put a broom and saw the tree stump from the Sweet Hearts set as a potential broomstick.  It was a little tricky, but it turned out as I had imagined it-very cute!!!

My daughter saw this hat box and wanted it, I'm not ready to give it up just yet.  I'm enjoying looking at it displayed on my shelf.  I think it would make a great little gift for a teacher at school for Halloween stuffed with some yummy candy.

Clear & Simple Stamps were fabulous and created a pdf file of the template for me and I definitely want to say Thank You to them for doing that for me and allowing me to share it with everyone.  You can view the template here.  If you create something with the template, I would love for you to leave me a link so I can check it out.

So, join us over at Just Us Girls with your Halloween creations and your chance to win some Clear & Simple Stamps goodies.

Blogger's Challenge 129: Birthday Theme

Oh, I just had one of those stressed out moments. I finished my card this week and am in LOVE with it and then I went to look at the number of blogger's challenge we are on...and thought I made the wrong theme for the week. WHEW!!!

So, this week, our blogger's challenge is birthday themed. It worked out so well this week for me as I needed to make a birthday card for one of my favorite little guys who is turning 1 this weekend and I can't wait to see him (and my BFF).

I pulled out some neglected stamps to make this card. I love them and think I need to pull them out more often as I'm not always happy with how my cards turn out, but I'm going to have a hard time giving this one away.

This is a new sketch I used from Just Us Girls, which I have been following, but just have not had time to participate in yet. I liked this sketch a lot and although I did eliminate one of the elements, I still like how the images worked with this sketch.

Thanks for all of you for continuing to follow my blog even though it's been quiet the last few weeks. My family and I have been doing some traveling & I've also been working on some new and exciting things for Clear & Simple Stamps. So while I have been doing a lot of stamping, I can't share any of it just yet. I am excited for it and can't wait to share it all.

Check out the other blogger's challenge peeps to see what fabulous birthday creations they have going on this week.
