Going Grey with ScrapCreations

I am SO excited to share with you that my friend Kristen is now hosting a weekly blog which I am going to be a part of.  We all love patterned paper, but Basic Grey is one of our favorites!!!  Kristen's new challenge is called Going Grey with Scrap-Creations and each week she will be issuing a color, theme, sketch, etc. in which we will use our stash (or newly acquired) Basic Grey papers.

This is our first week and we were challenged with the theme "Celebration".  How could you not want to celebrate with us and Kristen's new venture with this fantastic challenge?  Join us and you may have the chance to win two packs of the newly released Basic Grey paper packs Green at Heart & Kioshi which is being provided by our sponsor of the week, Hope Stamps Eternal.

For this second card I incorporated two other challenges which was from Joanne B. for her blogaversary to  "Fold It Up" and from Allison & Sue to break out a neglected tool for the Everything Old is New Again Challenge.  I think I had to wipe the dust off my crimper to use it for this card, but I now have it out and vow to use it more than every 5 years.

Make sure you hop on over to the other Design Team member's blog and leave them a little love.  We hope you will break out your favorite Basic Grey papers and create with us this week!

Card details:
Stamps:  You Say it's Your Birthday from The Cat's Pajamas, Birthday Darling from Clear & Simple Stamps, Everyday Button Bits from Papertrey Ink
Cardstock:  Basic Grey Off Beat, Bashful Blue, Real Red
Accessories: nestabilities, crimper, round tab punch

Happy Spring

I completed this card with a couple of challenges in mind.  I can't believe I was able to combine them, but I was.
  • First, I wanted to participate in helping Joanne B. celebrate her 3rd blogaversary by doing a paperpieced card using an MFT image.  I stamped a piece of Cool Carribean with the heart background stamp from Sweet Hearts and then cut it out to piece it on the image I had stamped on the Confetti White Cardstock.
  • Second challenge was for Allison & Sue's Everything Old is New Again challenge to break out some Prima's on  your card.  I had gone in on a Prima buy in a few years ago and have not even come close to touching all that I got.

    Card details:
Stamp:  My Basket of Eggs Pure Innocence for MFT, Sweet Hearts from Clear & Simple Stamps
Cardstock:  Cool Carribean, Confetti White, Kraft
Inks:  Dish All the Dirt Brown from Clear & Simple Stamps, Copics, Tempting Turquoise
Accessories: Prima flower, Making Memories Button, Janome Sewing, Basic Grey Bling It Designer Rhinestone, Carribean Blue Shimmer Mist

    I Carrot 'bout You

I was excited this weekend to finally work on some challenges!  I have been wanting to play in Sue & Allison's challenge Everything Old is New Again Challenge  but hadn't had a chance since their first or 2nd week

This week their challenge was to use an unloved color- Orange.  Well, I had the PERFECT image for this that I just received from Stampotique.  How cool & funky is this Carrot image?  I also stretched myself to use Allison's sketch for the week as well.

I've had a friend in mind the last week and have actually made several cards for friends this past week and will be posting them throughout the week.  She's been having a rough time and I've just had her on my mind.  I wanted to send her a nice quirky card so I hope it will put a smile to her face when she receives it as it's so NOT her style of card...but that's why I know it might give her a little chuckle.

If you haven't already joined us at the Stampotique Designer's Challenge- head on over there and join us, it's an easy theme this week- "LOVE".

    Here's a 2nd card I did with just a little different layout.

    Card details:
Stamps:  Carrot & I Carrot 'Bout You from Stampotique Originals
Cardstock: Pumpkin Pie & SEI Black Orchid, Stamper's Select
Inks:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic markers
Accessories:  Orange You Fabulous ribbon from Clear & Simple Stamps, Black Brads from Designer Mix Clear & Simple Stamps

Technostamper's Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge #105

This week is a very easy sketch from Mary Jo and I just realized now when I uploaded it that I misplaced my sentiment.  Oh well!  Card is done and about to be posted so I'm going to call it good to go.

I literally threw this card together in a matter of minutes using scraps I had in my scrap bin.  I combined it with a few other challenges this week that I wanted to participate in.  The first one was one of my favorite color combinations TCPTUES92 with chocolate, kraft & ligth blue.  The other challenge is brand new one two of my online stamp buddies, Allison & Sue are doing, the Everything Old is New Again.  This was EASY as there are a ton of stamps of mine that have either never seen the light of day, or haven't seen it in a long time.

I have 4 more days until I venture out to CHA to help Clear & Simple Stamps.  I'm so excited to meet Reenee & Nicki (the owners) as well as several members of the design team.  If you missed them on blog radio today you can check out At Home with Victoria, she has podcasts that you can download & replay.  It was a great show and I'll definitely tune into her again.

    Card details:
Stamp Set:  Kim Hughes' Baby Love, Yappy from The Cat's Pajamas
    Inks: Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze
Cardstock: Kraft, Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip, retired SU! Parisian Breeze dsp
    Accessories: Choco Chip grosgrain ribbon
