‘Hello lovely Stampotiquers,
Lots of us get so excited when we get our hands on an old ledger, old books, or old family photos even from people we don’t know. But those are often hard to come by, or very expensive.
Because of that, lots of us became very agile in making new things look old. Using inks, paper distressing tools and yummy techniques.
How about we combine all that love for all things vintage and all those yummy techniques with our favorite stamps, to create a vintage looking Stampotique piece?
Can’t wait to see where that leads you! Ready? Create!’
I always admire the vintage looking cards but I'm not very good at making them. This was one that I thought...hmmm...I did a pretty good job with it.
I paper pieced the dress with some patterned paper that looks like something that would have been straight out of Maria von Trapp's closet (or curtains I should say). I did some distressing and inking of the edges and used this cool die cut a friend gave me that reminds me of a fancy doily. I colored the prima flowers with one of my copics to match the dress but in the picture it looks a lot oranger.
Hope you will join us for this weeks challenge-your last week to play for a chance to win a $30 gift certificate for Stampotique stamps.

There is nothing more satisfying that stepping back from an art project and hearing yourself exclaim, "Whoa! I did that!" You have every right to say that here, Kim. Beautiful stamps, beautiful color, wondrous detail! Very well done, indeed!

I laughed when I read about the paper looking like curtains !!!! And yes I can see what your saying !
Many women including the von traps would use curtains to make clothes for there children ....... A great little vintage card !
I love it Kim, the orange and brown combine perfectly giving your card a real vintage feel!
Sweet image, and the die-cut doily works beautifully to frame it.
