Blogger's Challenge: Monochromatic Blues

T.G.I.F.

I'm off work today and looking forward to hanging out with hubby and my mother-in-law who is visiting for the long weekend from California.  We only get to spend time with her once a year or so, so we try to make the most of it while she is here.

This week Lisa has challenged us with monochromatic blues for our blogger's challenge.  I loved this challenge and created 2 cards fairly quickly.

Card details:
Stamps: Kind Deeds from Clear & Simple Stamps
Cardstock: Marina Mist, Not Quite Navy, Rustic White
Inks: Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy
Embellishments: glitter pen, Enchanted Evening ribbon, distresser, Jenni Bowlin self-adhesive pearl flowers, 1 1/4" and 1 3/8" circle punches

One of my co-workers lost her Mother earlier in the week and I needed a card for her.  Kind Deeds is my go-to set from Clear & Simple Stamps for sympathy cards.  I saw this card from Susan earlier in the week, I knew I wanted to create something similar-I loved how Susan stamped the black over the blue.  So, I just changed the black to dark blue and I decided not to stamp directly over my image.

I started off with inspiration from the Mojo Monday 206 sketch and I changed the circle sentiment to the other side.  My card was a little smaller and the panels are a little bit larger, but I drew from the sketch to begin with.

This next card I created with the new set from The {Stamps} of Life called owls2love.   This was just released and I can't wait to share a few more cards that I created with it.  It's a fun set!

Card details:
Stamps: owls2love by The {Stamps}of Life
Cardstock: Marina Mist, Not Quite Navy, Rustic White
Inks: Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, YR02 Copic
Embellishments: glitter pen, Enchanted Evening ribbon, distresser, Amuse pearls

Love what you've done with the challenge, I have a hard time with monochromatic and shy away from it. You've done a great job on both cards.
