BC216: Look Who Just Arrived

Today over at Blogger's Challenge Lisa gave us a sketch to work with.  I love these but this week was a bit short on time so I sat down last night and created a card for a new baby girl.  I'm overdue on sending this but hope that this weekend I can get the gift and get it out in the mail.

When I first saw this sketch, I had a few things in mind knowing I was going to make the baby card.  I interpreted the little ruffled part as a ticket punch looking piece and so I broke out a very neglected die from Papertrey Ink.  I cut a few of the tickets and then stamped the new Animals4Print background on them from The{Stamps}of Life.

I cut 2 strips of regal rose cardstock and used the sewing machine to layer them on the card.  My image is stamped on the inside of the circle as well as on a piece of vellum.  I adhered it using some glossy accents to give it some dimension.  My sentiment is stamped directly on the card and adorned with 2 small pearl accents.  I wish that I could find a good cream colored ink that wasn't blotchy on dark cardstock.  Anyone have a good suggestion on what to do?

This color combination uses the current Play Date Cafe Challenge as well.

Super cute card! I use the vintage cream ink from Papertrey Ink. It works really good, you just need to load up the ink on the stamp.

Love those animal-print tickets! I find you get a brighter image with white/cream/opaque inks if you use colored embossing powder as well (and heat-set of course).
