Mother's Day cards-Mom's-NO PEEKING!!!

Last night after the kiddos went to bed, I was able to come down and catch up on some t.v. shows online and stamp.  I only managed to get 2 cards done, but they were 2 important cards that needed to get off in the mail this week in honor of Mother's Day.

For the first card I created for my mother-in-law, I used my friend Lori Tecler's sketch over at Paper Craft Planet this week.  I turned it to make it work with the image from Live Life image I wanted to use.

I colored my twill ribbon (new in the CSS store) with my RV17 Copic marker and then highlighted my sentiment with the wide end of the marker.  Inside I stamped the same image in grey and the sentiment of Happy Mother's Day.

Card details:
Cardstock: Mauved by the Paparrazi, A Blanc Check, Perfect Little Black Dress, Going Grey
Inks: Perfect Little Black Dress
Accessories: A Blanc Check Twill Ribbon, twine, Grey button from Designer Mix

This card is for my Mom and I used a combination of challenges on this one.  The last few weeks I haven't been able to play in Mona's CR84FN challenge and really wanted to this week, so I used the colors from that along with the sketch from Card Positioning Systems.

Tonight I am hoping for a repeat of last night where I might be able to stamp a little after the kids are in bed.  It was relaxing and I drifted off to sleep fairly easy.  Then again, work has been crazy busy lately!  Onto my card though.  I pulled out a sheet of Jennie Bowlin Victoria Mini papers that aren't exactly Kraft but they go pretty well and you probably would never be able to tell that they are more grey.

With the papers I used some amuse card candy to accentuate the pattern on the papers.

Card details:
Stamps: One Person from Verve Stamps
Cardstock: Kraft, Golden Tiara, Whisper White, Jennie Bowlin Studios Victoria Mini Papers
Inks: Sahara Sand, So Saffron, More Mustard
Accessories: Amuse Card Candy

Ooops--thought the mother's day cards were separate posts so I want to add that I love the colors in the card for your mother-in-law. Great sketch.

I like both of them! Of course, I am alittle partial to the black one... but my daughter votes the yellow with two thumbs up!
