Home of the Brave

This week our list Mom challenged us to create with a Patriotic theme.  I knew exactly what set I wanted to use and decided to use up some new papers I just received from Die Cuts R Us.  If you haven't ordered from Claudia before she is fantastic!  I really needed some of the papers to work with this weekend for a craft fair and she had them shipped the following day.  I was thrilled!  The one thing I absolutely *love* ordering from her are her paper sample packs.  You get a little of everything without having to order a whole pack of paper.

Before I show you my card I thought I would share a picture of my 3 at Halloween.  The last few years, the oldest has been taking off to go with friends before we have even gotten everyone in their costumes so I was so excited this year that we all went together and I got a picture of all 3 of them together.

Finley as a shark, Tristan a scary clown and Syd is Little Miss Spider
We had a great time this year with friends trick or treating and was glad the weather wasn't too cold but it wasn't too warm either, just right!

Onto my card, which literally took me 10 minutes to stamp.  I'm still cramming for the holiday craft fair next weekend so wanted to stay focused on that.

Very simple card using the Skipping Stones Design Sketch #49 designed by Shannan Teubner.  It just seemed to fit this image perfectly.  I chose to leave the image open and only color the stars (which I know are not supposed to be red).  I wanted to give the image just a little POP against the backgrounds.  The one thing I love about clear stamps is the ability to shape them and for the Home of the Brave I just curved it to fit my image.

Make sure to check out the other blogger's to see what Patriotic creations they have come up with.

Card details:
Cardstock: Dare to be a Diva Red, A Blanc Check, Seaside from October Afternoon
Inks: Enchanted Evening, Fresh Snow, Copic R27
Accessories: Oval Spellbinders Nestabilities, Earth Elements Brads

The sketch is great but I really love what you did with it. That oval image is perfect and the stars in the background are great too! Nicely done!

Super impact made by leaving the stamped outline image plain and coloring just the stars!
