Back to School

Are your kids back in school yet or are you ready for them to be?  Mine started back almost 2 weeks ago and it's been great-except that my 10 yr old came home today with a stomach bug. He hadn't missed a day of school in over 2 years which is pretty good.

So this week our list Mom, Lisa gave us the theme of Back to School.  I had received this set from Susan Liles awhile ago and had yet to ink it up.  I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it and loved how it turned out.  I love when things like that happen!!!  The set is Back to School from My Favorite Things which is now retired.

I stamped my chalkboard using Perfect Little Black Dress and used my Bitty Alpha Modern set with A Blanc Check ink.  I cut the chalkboard out and popped a little apple on it.  I colored the teacher with my Copic markers and again stamped a strip with the Alpha Modern and mounted it on a piece of Dare to be a Diva Red cardstock with a piece of Dare to be Diva Red ribbon through it (I *love* this ribbon-same on both sides-GORGEOUS to work with).  I used my new Open Scallop Border Die-Namic from My Favorite Things.  I added a Perfect Little Black Dress button with some black twine.

Hope you will check out how the rest of the blogger's participating in the challenge are ringing in their new school year here.

Very cute, you did a great job with this set. I have to say it always freaks me out these headless people, lol. I wish I had a headless teacher a few times, think of all we could have gotten away with, lol! Great layout and design.

OMG Kim this is a perfect back to school card. A lot of the times when we are talking to the kids in class they look at the teacher or myself like we have no head and aren't talking to them! I love this card! Great work!
