Black, White, Splash of color

I'm very late today...I know I've said this before, but work has been so busy the last few weeks, I haven't had as much energy to stamps as I used to.  I find that at night I just want to veg out, but I did drag myself to stamp last night...it was a MESS.  I even took a picture and although it's not too bad, it was CRAMPED.

Anyway, once I got going on my Blogger's Challenge card to do black, white a splash of color (also the Playdate Cafe Challenge this week), I managed to get a few cards done.  I'll share 2 that I did today using the same general layout and image, just a smidgen different.

I wanted to incorporate the green in my card and was having a hard time figuring out what image to use.  I was leaning towards leaves the whole time and couldn't visualize something else.  The cards I decided to create were 4 x 4 cards and I also used the Sketch For You to Try this week.

Without further ado, here are the cards I created this week:

Both cards use the Woodlands set from Clear & Simple Stamps as well as the Art Deco background set.  I used one of my Cuttlebug folders for the background  and the new PTI ric rac die (the larger one).

Off to check out what the other girls have created this week and what splashes of color they use.  You can hope through them here.

Ohhh, I really like that wide rik-rak. Nice choice of color to go along with the black and white.

Wonderful cards, always great to see two cards using the same cards/theme, yet yield such different end results! Thanks for playing at the PDCC.

Both cards are quite nice. I'm really drawn to the one with the ric-rac border.

Great shade of green to use. Love that tree image! And your stamping area isn't NEARLY as messy as I could have imagined. :) Mine is horrible. I think I'm down to an 8x8 spot of cleared off paper to work on.
