Blogger Challenge, Week #14

Wow! We've been doing this for 14 weeks already? Amazing!

This week we were to use spectrum pads on our cards. At first I didn't think I had any, but lo and behold in my closet stash I found 4 of them...hardly ever used and probably none of them even current any more, even more shocking...I just looked up the one I used and it's in the catty!

I did 2 different cards as my idea started one way and then as I was doing it, I came up with something else in my head so I did 2 of them. On the one card I did a starburst type of coloring with a sponge. I punched out one size circle and dabbed the color on and then covered it up with the circle I punched, punched a larger size, dabbed the color on and then covered it up with the circle I punched, etc. until I got all the colors from the spectrum pad on there. The purple is the hardest to see.

Both cards use almost the same materials.

Stamp Sets: Happy Harmony, Jolies Fleurs from Lizzie Anne Designs
Cardstock: Glossy White, Pink Passion, Green Galore, Brilliant Blue, Basic BlackInks: Pink Passion, Only Orange, Lovely Lilac, Brilliant Blue, Green Galore, Black Staz-on and Celebration Spectrum pad
Accessories: Marvy Mega Punches, Black brads, black ribbon (non-SU), photo corner punch, 1 1/4" square punch
Make sure to check out the blogs of the other's participating in this challenge on the right hand side of my blog.
ETA: The paperclip is just holding my card together as it's a tri-fold card that just wouldn't photograph right and the colors didn't scan well at all.

Criss Cross Card

I made this card for a small swap I do with a few girls. Our theme
this month was fall/Halloween and believe it or not I have
NO fall or Halloween stamps, I went through them all and not even a fall looking leaf to use. Needless to say I had to improvise with this. I hope the girls won't be too disappointed that it's not the traditional fall/Halloween card. I like to be a little different ;-)

Stamp Sets: Hugs & Wishes (stamped on card inside), Bodacious Bouquet
Cardstock: Not Quite Navy, So Saffron, Whisper White, Petals & Paisleys DSP
Inks: Not Quite Navy, So Saffron, Old Olive
Accessories: 1 3/8" circle, Round Tab Punch, Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon, Scallop Punch

Blogger Challenge, Week #13

This week our challenge was to use embossing of any kind. I have always seen others use the Cuttlebug emobossing folders with chalking or daubing ink over it and never could get mine to look good. This time it worked well enough that I was happy with it thanks to the tip of a fellow stamper who told me how to do it to look decent.

Stamp Sets: Simply Said, Doubleline Doodles
Cardstock and inks: Pretty in Pink, Old Olive and Pixie Pink, Craft White
Accessories: Cuttlebug emobossing folder, scallop punch, circle punches, white taffeta ribbon, stickles

Make sure to check out the other challengers work, listed on the right hand side bar.

Thanks for looking!

Blogger Challenge, Week #12

Wow, we've been doing this for 12 weeks now huh? Doesn't seem that long. I really had something else in mind for this week, but it didn't work out. This card, however, did and I was pleased with it since it's the first time I've used the stamp itself.

This week our challenge was "Inspiration" again. What inspires us? I have one person that I absolutely adore her work and a card she sent me awhile back inspired my card this week. Please check out the original card at Jane's Addiction . I also participated in the color challenge for this week on SCS. The colors were Always Artichoke, Taken with Teal and Purely Pomegranate. I tell you I thought I would barf with those colors together but they really worked good together and I loved what I saw from other so figured I'd give it a try. I actually made a few cards using this color combo.

Well, on to my card for this week, sorry the pic is a little crooked:

Stamp set is by Karen Stolper at American Art Stamp, Canvas background
Colors: Always Artichoke, Purely Pomogranate, Taken with Teal, Very Vanilla
Inks: All colors above plus Black Stazon
Accessories: Twill Tape, Aquapainter, Oval punch for the shadow underneath (cut oval punch out of a piece of cardstock and put cardstock over spot I wanted, then sponged on Sahara Sand)

Make sure to check out the other inspiring works of our blogger's on the right hand sidebar.

Have a great weekend!

Stamp Sets: Print Pattern, Canvas, Paisley background, Circle of Friendship

Cardstock: Creamy Caramel, Confetti White, Apricot Appeal, Pixie Pink, and unknown patterned paper

Ink: Pixie Pink, Choco Chip, Pumpkin Pie
Accessories: Ribbon, Hodgepodge brads, jumbo eyelets, circle punches, chipboard
Make sure to check out the other challenge participants on the sidebar on the right, we have some new girls joining us this week!

Cheers to the Cosmobella

This is a card I made with some scrap paper I had laying around from my last challenge card. I tried to coordinate the Cosmobella with the colors in the paper I had. I like how it turned out and need to use my Bella's more frequently.
Cheers to all during this Labor Day weekend!
