Just a Note

The other night I was quite inspired to craft and my hubby took charge of the kiddos and let me escape for a few hours down to craft.

I had ordered this little card kit from Mish Mash's little shop and went to work creating with the supplies.  I ended up making 6 cards in which I'll share 2 today and the rest over the next week or so.

For my card above I used the SFYTT for January-didn't get it posted on my blog in time to play along but still had fun using it.

For my next card I channeled my out of the box thinking and inspiration from a fellow stamper who's style I've admired for a long time and she's been so supportive in making me stretch out of the norm for me.  Monika Davis has some of the most amazing creations and I was really drawn to this card and her "clustering" of elements.  While I didn't quite capture it as well on my first try I'll definitely be attempting it again.

Again, I used the elements from Mish Mash's shop on my card and I used theVerve set Take Note to stamp the tag with some typewriter font.  Love how these cards turned out and that's not often I'm feeling that way.  For the string circle, I actually cut off the string that was on the tag, colored it with my copic which stiffened it just a little.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my creations!

From our Family to Yours

Today over at Going Grey with Scrap-Creations our theme is a Christmas theme.  I pulled out some new stamps for me from Our Craft Lounge, Happy Holly-days and Merry Wishes.

I'm loving this layout from Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge, but I changed it up a bit from the original sketch.  I've created a few cards with this layout though-I love all the layers of it.

I apologize that I have such a small card today, I'm playing with my new MacBook and uploading to iPhoto and it's been challenging for me so if anyone has any tips on how to download pics off the camera at a larger size into iPhoto before I google it that would be great.

Join us over at Going Grey with Scrap-creations, we'd love to see your Christmas creations!

Happy Birthday with Rosie-Blogger's Challenge

Blogger's Challenge Friday with one of my favorite themes- a sketch challenge.  Although I would love to say this card came easy for me, I was doing it in bits and pieces and kept on changing some things.

I colored this image from Lili of the Valley months ago and had it sitting on my stack of things to put together.  I loved the colors and they worked perfectly with the new Play Date Cafe Challenge this week.  I had to alter one of my colors to make it a little bit darker on my image but think it turned out great.  I wanted to use some of the new lattice rectangles  that I recently added to my spellbinders collection, they worked out great for the 2 rectangles in the sketch.

I ran my creamsicle cardigan paper through the cuttle bug with the Swiss dots folder to give it some more dimension against the lattice rectangles.  I decided to put some Lilac twine from The Twinery on the rectangles, some stickles on the stars and the candle.  At the last minute I added some 3D Crystal Lacquer onto the cake icing.

The two opposite sides looked a little bare so I included a sentiment and on the side opposite put some orange creative candy.

If you'd like to play along with this weeks Bloggers Challenge, please link back to this post on your blog and mention you created your card for the Bloggers Challenge Sketch Challenge. Please add your link using the Linky Tool on any of the blogs.  Please post your direct link to your Bloggers Challenge Post, not just a link to your blog. Blogger's Challenge: Die Cuts or Punches

This week our challenge was to focus on die cuts or punches. I decided since I don't have too many pretty punches I would use my Peony nestabilities.

I made this card pretty quickly, it's pretty simple as usual ;-) I ran all the peony nestabilities through my cuttlebug on 2 different pieces of dsp. I think sprayed them with my mini mister and crumpled them up. I let them dry just a little bit and then ran my Papertrey Ink Chai & Raspberry Sorbet ink pads over to give it a little more of a worn look.

I love this ribbon treatment that I learned from Sharon Johnson and think it would have looked better if I had a smaller image, but it works for me. The little sentiment stamp I used was from a Studio G clear stamp set.

Make sure to check out all the other challengers this week by clicking here.

Have a good weekend! I'm looking forward to some creative time with a few friends tomorrow night, hoping to get a lot accomplished (which usually NEVER happens).

World Alzheimer's Day/ Cammie's Heart to Heart Blog Candy

I had some time today while the baby was napping (he's sick...again) so I decided to do the SCS SC195 along with the goal to send a thank you to my grandmother's hospice house in honor of World Alzheimer's Day for Cammie's Heart to Heart Blog Candy. Definitely check out all the goodies someone might be able to win by simply sending a card in thanks for all the hard work the nurses, aides, etc. do to help those suffering with Alzheimer's.

I also put together about 50 cards for the house to use as they wish for the nursing staff or to use with the resident's. I put some envelopes with each of the cards, almost all of them extras I've made from swaps or what not. I hope that they will be able to use them.

Card Details:

Stamps: Just Rite Stamper, small letters
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Bella Rose, Old Olive, Rose Red
Inks: Rose Red, Old Olive, Versafine Onyx Black
Accessories: Black Brads, Nestabilities Circles and Scallops

Baby Thank You's

I'm sorry these pictures are horrible, it was dark and dreary most of the day today.

I am heading to my friends baby shower this week and I wanted to make her some thank you cards so these are pretty simple ones. It only took me a few hours to make 30 of them, I made 5 of each animal using my Kim Hughes Baby Love from Cornish Heritage Farms along with various forms of Thank you's. I used some Fabriano cards I've had for a little while and also my nestabilities.

I've got some more that I did as well this weekend when I was working on Verve Visual's challenge but screwed up so just went my own way on the sketches.

Don't forget to check out the post on the top for some blog candy!
