"I read the news today, oh boy"
This week our fantastic host, Jo Capper-Sandon has challenged us to use newspapers/magazines/newsprint on our creations. Our challenge is open to any stamps this week, so please join us by linking up directly to your creation over at Stampotique Designer's Challenge. We will choose a winner randomly and announce it at our next challenge to win a $30 gift certificate to the Stampotique store for stamps.
I have been hoarding a few canvas frames in my stash for awhile now and decided I was going to break them out and use one. Well, my first attempt to stamp directly on it didn't work and I didn't want to waste the frame so I decided to use it for this challenge-and I went CRAZY with some Tim Holtz Tissue Tape in Symphony.
Once I covered the whole frame in tape, I completely covered it with Mod Podge and let it sit for a few days while I pondered how I would finish it. Again, my first thought was something completely different than the direction I went.
I pulled out a few of my friends, stamped them on watercolor paper and then used my aquapainters to color them up. I had a tab open to play along with the Imagination Emporium's first challenge to use fragments and I wanted the sentiment on this to stand out just a little more so after I applied my friends to the canvas and used another layer of Mod Podge, I sprayed the Tim Holtz fragments with my Tattered Angels Carribean Blue Shimmer mist and then adhered onto the sentiment before the mod podge dried.
Hope you will join us over at Stampotique Designer's Challenge to use newsprint/old book pages on your creation!
