Joyful

Like yesterday's card, this one I got to play with another favorite challenge just for fun!  The colors for this challenge were definitely a challenge for me.  I don't have a lot of gold/silver things, but I do have some embossing powder.

This is the newest color scheme over at The Play Date Cafe and I sat on it for a few days wondering how I could incorporate those colors.  Okay, I won't lie to you, when I picked this image from Stampotique to use, it only took me about 6 times to heat emboss the images before I got one I embossed evenly and looked good.  After I embossed it with some Shellac Gold EP (from Stamp N Plus Scrap N) I sponged on some Cool Carribean around the image and colored in the face with an E00 Copic marker.

I had to take a side view picture of this card as the image kept glaring at me since it was embossed.  I added some layers of Kraft & Cool Carribean to the card.  The strip was embossed with the Argyle cuttlebug folder after I had inked it up.  I used the Viva Pearl Pen in silver to add a few dots to the card.

Of course I had to combine this challenge with a sketch challenge- the Card Positioning Systems sketch for this week.  I eliminated the rounded edges on the card & my image, but followed the rest of the sketch best I could.

Card details:
Stamps: Joyful from Stampotique Originals
Cardstock: Cool Carribean, Kraft Like a Rockstar, A Blanc Check
Inks: Versamark, Cool Carribean
Embellishments: Shellac Gold (EP-113) Embossing Powder from Stamp N Plus Scrap N, Open Scallop punch from My Favorite Things, Viva Pearl Pen-silver

OOOH! I LOVE this! That image is FAB and I think we can all relate to having to emboss or stamp multiple times until we get it just right! LOVE the sponging and the argyle. Really PRETTY!

Don't you HATE when the image won't emboss properly? Argh! Been there, done that.

Well, try #6 (six, right?) worked out great! The card turned out beautifully.

THanks for hanging in there with that embossing and playing with us at The Play Date Cafe.
