Chapter 27: Prizes for Dodo...

CHAPTER 27: Prizes for Dodo...

"This question the Dodo could not answer without a great deal of thought, and it sat for a long time with one finger pressed upon its forehead (the position in which you usually see Shakespeare, in the pictures of him), while the rest waited in silence. At last the Dodo said, `EVERYBODY has won, and all must have prizes.'

`But who is to give the prizes?' quite a chorus of voices asked.

`Why, SHE, of course,' said the Dodo, pointing to Alice with one finger; and the whole party at once crowded round her, calling out in a confused way, `Prizes! Prizes!'

Alice had no idea what to do, and in despair she put her hand in her pocket, and pulled out a box of comfits, (luckily the salt water had not got into it), and handed them round as prizes. There was exactly one a-piece all round. `But she must have a prize herself, you know,' said the Mouse.

`Of course,' the Dodo replied very gravely. `What else have you got in your pocket?' he went on, turning to Alice..."

Hello all!

We are so excited about today's inspiration piece, which just so happens to feature Alice and the lovable Dodo she encounters along her adventures in Wonderland.  We'll even spare Dodo the croquet game today...less headache!  ;)

The Mad Hatter herself is VERY fond of Tarina Tarantino jewelry and is lucky enough to own a VERY fun ring that she scored while in Disneyworld last time. Check out the fabulous Queen Alice ring HERE.

For today's challenge, we are all gaga over this beautiful piece:

I was inspired by the colors in the necklace and every time I see the Dodo, I think of this Fantasy Ostrich Ride stamp from Stamp N Plus Scrap N.  Just cracks me up every time.  I've added some pearls to the inside of my rolled flowers (using this die) and some rhinestones on the inside of my butterfly.  After it's all said and I done, I wish I'd cuttlebugged some of the cardstock to give it a little texture.  I purposely didn't color the ostrich, I liked it just plain.
I used a layout I saw online-I wish I could find where so I'll post the sketch and if anyone knows where I came across this...please let me know.

Your mission today is to create SPARKLY FABULOUSNESS (yes, include some BLING, please!) as inspired by the above photo.   Join us over at the Oh, Alice blog and show us your FABULOUSNESS.

Here are some blingtastic samples from the DT:

Wow, I LOVE this card! LOVE! Great sketch and your implementation is WONDERful! The rolled flowers are fab, and I agree about not coloring the ostrich. I am not sure about embossing - some subtle texture would have been good, but anything too large or lively would have detracted from the image and upset the left/right balance. I think your mojo was RAGING on this one, girlfriend!
