Bravo Beachy Palm Trees/Blogger's Challenge

I broke out of my shell this time around and decided to do the cracked glass technique. I'm technique challenged for some reason, heck, I have a hard time even getting my embossing right.

This card is using the Traveller set from Clear & Simple Stamps which will be released July 15th. It's one of my favorite sets, I love the beachy feel. Makes me want to take a vacation. This is also a card for my Blogger's Challenge this week which is Red, White & Blue (and obviously my paper has yellow). I'm sure that a lot of the participants this week are doing patriotic cards, but I did a bunch that you can see here (Party Invites , Happy 4th of July) so I did something a little different this time.

This is some more CTMH paper I pulled out of my stash. I'm a big fan of their scrapbooking kits and papers. I have enough of them and every time I see their new catalog I want more.

For the flowers I used the peony nestabilities. After punching them out I spritzed them with some water and crumpled them up. I then unfolded them carefully and laid them out to dry. I love this look for making flowers.

Make sure to check out all the new releases on July 15th at Clear & Simple Stamps, you are sure to find one you love (or two, or three).

Card details:
Stamp Set: Traveller from Clear & Simple Stamps (available 7/15/09)
Cardstock/Paper: Bravo Burgundy, Brocade Blue, Ppaertrey White, CTMH designer papers
Inks: Brocade Blue, Bravo Burgundy, Tim Holtz Distress Ink (tea dye)
Accessories: Label & Peony Nestabilities, Clear Embossing powder, Blue Bird grosgrain ribbon, circle punch, clear rhinestone brad

This is great, Kim! The cracked glass looks fantastic with the tree image. And, I love the textured flowers--I just got that die, so I'll have to try that, too.

Great card Kim, It's nice to ss how those colors work for non-patriotic cards too. I like how you did the Palm trees to match the DP and you did a great job with the cracked glass technique.
