Blogger Challenge, Week #10

This week I actually got my butt in gear and did some stamping. I even did a card that wasn't for a challenge, but did it just because I had some scrap paper laying on my desk. I even got my challenge card completed for next week ;-)
This week was to make a card using the layout on p. 92 of the IB&C, and we could do the pocket if we wanted to, but didn't have to. I chose to try the pocket.
This was a hard challenge and I've enjoyed seeing what the other bloggers have come up with (see sidebar to the right for all the other participant's work). It took me WAY to long to come up with something and I figured I needed to order some new stamps sets to work with so I placed an order yesterday as well. (shame on me).

Stamps: Be Happy, Zoofari
Cardstock: Old Olive, Purely Pomegranate, Pretty in Pink, Confetti White, Basic Grey Pheobe
Accessories: Paper Piercer, thread and needle, HodgePodge Hardware, Square Punches, Retired Fiber/Ribbon, Corner Rounder punch
Yes, I did hand sew the sides which wasn't too hard to do and didn't take too much time. Maybe I should break out my little sewing maching and learn how to use it instead ;-)
Enjoy!

Blogger RAK- Tammy Fite

I received a wonderful RAK in the mail this week from a fellow blogger who came across my blog and liked it. I love the colors in this card and it's definitely one of my favorite sets (have lots of those). If you haven't come across Tammy's site yet, it's definitely worth visiting. Thanks again Tammy for the nice suprise mail!

Baby Card-Bundled in Love

When I saw this set in the new catalog it was a must have. Being pregnant and loving this set, it was the first on my list of items to get. Now, I'm not great at watercoloring, blending, etc. so it's been a trial for me to get some nice clean images when I'm coloring.

This card I made for a new catty swap on my SSUS group. The cards we received back were phenomenal and are now proudly displayed on my "inspiration" board to get my rear motivated to stamp some more.

Sets: Bundled in Love
Cardstock: Whisper White, So Saffron, Rose Red, Bashful Blue, Cutie Pie Designer, Certainly Celery
Inks: Black Staz-on
Accessories: Soft Subtles Brads, Photo Corner Punch, Watercolor Wonder Crayons, Blender Pen, Bashful Blue Taffeta Ribbon, Paper Piercer

Here is another I made similar for another new catty swap. I used the pencils with this one and didn't like the image as much no matter what I did...so I left it as is.

Blogger Challenge, Week #9

I am way behind in posting and then I had to reach in to my archives to find a card I had already made as I haven't had any time to make a card. I was travelling last week and my MIL came in to town for a quick visit (from CA) for the weekend so we were slammed.
I apologize to the other participants that I wasn't able to get a new one completed, but should have one done for this week with no issues ;-)
This is a 3 x 3 card I made for a "jiffy" swap where we have certain requirements and we put all the stuff in a box of "Jiffy" muffin mix (minus the muffin mix).
Stamp Sets: Wild About You
Colors: Regal Rose, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink
Accessories: Circle punches, Word Window Punch and retired ribbons
Make sure to check out the sidebar for the other challenge participants work, some awesome cards this week with great creative ways to use the punches!

More challenges

I participated in an ATC challenge to do 2 of them, this was the one that represents myself. I love this little monkey and the little sentiment as well. I was inspired by one of Beate's cards when I was working on this. I loved the colors she used and how it all came together.

The 2nd card I did was using Bud Basics and SU! product which I just realized that the sentiment I used was not SU! Luckily I sent 3 so hopefully that will compensate for my error as it's all ready to be mailed. I used the SCS Sketch Challenge #136 for this ATC.

The 3rd ATC and card I did was for another challenge. This was more difficult for me as we had specific colors and I didn't like them at all. I was pleased with how it turned out although on my ATC card I cut my sentiment off a little.

Blogger Challenge, Week #8

This week our theme was "Inspired by"....pick something - say a pattern in a piece of clothing, colors in a rug. Some design that inspires you to create a card or project.
Top card:
Cardstock: Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White
Inks: Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Certainly Celery
Accessories: Bazzill Bitty Blossoms, Rich Regals Brads, White Signo Gel Pen, Slit punch for scalloped edges
Stamp Sets: Pick a Petal, Absolutely Fabulous

The card I first did I didn't like too much and the 2nd on I did. I don't know why it takes me so long to do some of these cards, drives me crazy!!!! Anyway, I finished it this week and I was proud of myself. I have a few more cards I need to do so hoping this weekend proves to be semi-quiet.

My inspiration came from this Pottery Barn Kids bedspread.

Bottom Card:
Cardstock: Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink, Not Quite Navy, Whisper White
Inks: Black Staz On, Certainly Celery, Regal Rose
Accessories: White Signo Gel Pen, Photo Corner Punch, Slit punch for scalloped edges, SU! Write Markers, Ribbon by American Crafts
Stamp Set: Pick a Petal and Simply Said
Make sure to check out all the blog challengers on the sidebar to the right...they produce some phenomenal projects and cards!

Blogger Challenge, Week #7

Okay, I'm really feeling bad as I was going to do something this weekend and just never got around to doing it. I had it in my head what I was going to do but my head just wasn't connecting with my body to bring myself down in the basement to stamp it, so I'm replaying an altered item I did awhile ago for a moderator-owner on one of
yahoo groups. It was fairly easy to make and I loved the colors that were used although there was no stamping on the wooden letter. I can't even remember half the supplies that were used so I'm taking an easy way out this week and just sharing the picture instead. Sorry ladies!!!

I don't even have a good excuse...well, I do, I'm pregnant. Our son had a sleepover at another friends house last night so I could have stamped, but opted to sit my hiney on the couch and watch tennis, and proceeded to fall asleep shortly after I put my daughter down at 9 a.m. Then I slept in late today, laid around some more and went grocery shopping. I came down tonight to stamp but am finding I'm exhausted and ready for bed. Someone, please SMACK some good stamping sense in to me so I can get back with the program.

I did, however, mount a bunch of cardfronts last week so they are all ready to be mailed whenever I want to use them. I was excited I got that much done.

And I thought I was going to have more energy in the 2nd trimester??? Do you think I can stick with the "once I have this baby and am on maternity leave I'll have time to stamp" mantra I keep telling myself?

Blogger Challenge, Week #6

The card on the left was our weekly blog challenge card which was to replicate the card in the Stampin'Up! Idea Book, p. 165

I had a tough time at first because I didn't have thick ribbon to use and the patterned paper I chose just didn't look right. Finally I decided to stamp my own paper.

I used Bud Basics, Little Flowers, Print Pattern stamps. Gable Green, Marigold Morning and Brocade Blue papers and inks. Ribbon is SU! retired. Rich Regals brads and I also used some stickles on the flowers.

The card on the right was inspired heavily by Debbie Fisher. I absolutely fell in the love with the card I had but don't have the Groovy Guava ink pad so went with some other colors instead.

Bud Basics stamp set, Certainly Celery, Real Red and Bashful Blue, Bold Brights brads

Enjoy and make sure to check out the other bloggers who are participating in this challenge on the sidebar.

Ever get in a rut?

Why is it that I can spend hours on end looking at other's blogs and feel so creative, yet can't break out any supplies to stamp?

I'm hosting a fundraising event this weekend (see sidebar for details) and I know that I will have some time to sit down and work on my own thing, but I don't even know where to begin. I don't have any swaps to work on and I'm about 18 months behind on my scrapbooking so I guess that would be the ideal place to start. But, then I'd have to bring ALL my supplies with me. That's the part I hate the most. I'm very selfish in that I like to scrapbook at my house where I have everything within my reach. I am not organized enough to pre-plan although that is something I desperately need.

I really ASPIRE to be like other stampers out there, and be able to stamp ever day, I just never seem to tear myself away from the blogs.

I admit, I'm a blog addict!
