Happy Anniversary

Yesterday was my 11th anniversary and hubby and kids were down in Florida so I had an extra day to work with getting a card together for him. I came across this idea on Kristine Paisley's blog and knew this was the card I need to make for him. I've been far too emotional these days over nothing (pregnancy hormones) and so wanted something that would make us both laugh...this had me in stitches when I first saw it.

Stamp Sets: Zoofari, Hugs & Wishes (used on inside of card not shown)

Colors: Buckaroo Blue, Old Olive, Bashful Blue, Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Whisper White

Inks: Buckaroo Blue, Bashful Blue

Accessories: Soft Subtles brads, prima flower, SU! fonts for sentiment, Marvy Uchida Scalloped and circle punch

Blogger Challenge, Week #1

I'm doing a blogger's challenge with a group of friends and this was our first week of doing it. We were given the challenge of recreating the card on p. 10 of the fall/winter preview catalog using a different stamp set and colors.

I like the way mine turned out and I used the SCS Color Challenge # 38 from the little book I got from Leigh O'Brien. It's about time I break that out, I forget about the book as it's so pretty that I don't want to ruin it.
Stamp Sets: Tagger's Dozen, Pick a Petal
Colors: Basic Black, Whisper White, Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery, Craft White
Accessories: Soft Subtles brads, Pink Gingham Ribbon, 1 1/4" circle punch

I tried one of Beate's sketches this weekend so thought I would share. One of them I'm saving for a birthday party next week, the other sending to my VC_Rocks Hotel Roomie. Hope she likes it!

Last name frame

Whooo, I'm done with name frames. My girlfriend must NOT drink the water in her area as every one of her friends has had baby's!

This one took me longer to come up with how I wanted to do it. I hate when you have an idea in your head on how you want it to look only to discover that won't work. The theme in the room was blue, bears and planes. Well, I don't have any bears or planes. I can manage the blue, every shade of it!!! But, the lady who had the baby is also involved in Golden Retriever Rescue and so my girlfriend said dog prints would be cute....hey, I know someone who has that stamp set!!!

I used some new letter that Creative Memories has and put them on a think cardboard and cut them out.

Stamps: Dog set which I don't know the name of, Everyday Flexible Phrases

Colors: Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Ballet Blue, Whisper White

Accessories: Creative Memories ABC Monograms in Baby Boy Soft, Copper Hardware, Grosgrain Ribbon

Another simple name frame

Okay, I have one more name frame to go, another boys frame.

This frame I did was very simple. I had bought this frame to do one of the girls name frames with but the other one I was trying for did not work too well, so I put the frame aside.

I think this one turned out very well, although simple. You can't tell from the picture but the primas are pastel yellow, pastel green and white. I used CK rhinestone brads in the middle.

Stamps: Crayon fun

Colors: Confetti white, non-su paper on chipboard letter

eggplant grosgrain ribbon

AMuse Swap

Another Amuse Swap I joined. I was quite thrilled with the way this card turned out. I had seen the "sand" idea on another blog...I apologize that I can't remember who's right now.

Stamps: AMuse
Cardstock: Vellum, Whisper White, Sahara Sand
Inks: Black Staz On, Yo Yo Yellow, Pumpkin Pie
Accessories: Gold Brads, Corkboard, Lumiere, Pearl-Ex
You can't really tell in the picture but I colored the palm tree leaves with lumiere and Pearl-Ex, the base of the tree with a SU! Marker. The sun was made by cutting a square and then punching the "sun" shape out of it with a circle punch. I used this as my template when I sponged on the color.

VC_Rocks ATC Swap

I joined a swap on the VC_Rocks group for ATC's. Now, hopefully that I've joined some of these ATC swaps, I will do something with them.

This was CHALLENGING as I had to use stamps that were not retiring, yet I couldn't find a darn sentiment to use on this one that wasn't retiring.

Stamp Sets: Happy Everything, I'm Here
Colors: Brocade Blue, Whisper White, Vellum
Inks: Craft White, Night of Navy
Accessories: Soft Subtles Brads
