"Fall"ing with Colors

Yeah for stamping time!  In between football and a baseball tournament I was able to get some stamping in here and there.  Had fun doing some challenges and just stamping in general.

This first card was a very easy card for me.  I had the background already inked up sitting in my pile to use.  I had just swiped some Wild Honey & Antique Linen distress stains across my watercolor paper several times go give a multi-colored effect.  I stamped my image from the Bluebird set directly on the background.  Loved how this turned out!

This card is for the CR84FN challenge to use orange, yellow and brown.  Hard to identify the yellow but is on my background and I layered my focal image on some summer sun cardstock.

Since I had been working with these colors I also chose to do The Play Date Cafe's 100th Challenge- congrats ladies!   I combined this with Mish's Sketch from 9/13/11 and used the Color Bleed Grid Technique from The Classroom.  Granted mine definitely is not as pretty as Julia's- I have some more playing to do with this technique using a variety of colors.

I used the Feathers set from Clear & Simple Stamps as a more masculine card with these colors.  I swear that is NOT a fingerprint in one of my grids, should have stamped one of the leaves over that.

Blogger's Challenge: 141 Green & White

This week has been a busy one for me.  I traveled Tuesday & Wednesday for work and Thursday I was off to go get this dreaded root canal done that I've put off too long.  Now I have to go back and get a crown put on the tooth, but hopefully after that I'll be able to chew on that side of my mouth.

List Mom Lisa gave us the challenge to use a very neglected color in my palette this week:  GREEN.  I will use certainly celery on occasion but most of the time, I don't use much green.  

This card was a very easy card using one of Mish's sketches along with some new stamps I received from Stamp N Plus Scrap N which I'm doing some design work for now.  I love the variety of stamps that Lu Ann has to offer!

Wonderful Spring

I am constantly thinking of Spring these days.  I'm not a big fan of the cold weather, I like it mid 70's.  I'm a shorts, t-shirt & birks girl and so I can't wait until the weather warms up.  I can wait to go back to shaving my legs every day or two though...can't stand that part of the warm weather!

This last weekend I stamped a bunch of images I just got from Stampotique and brought my Copics upstairs to color while I watched the Olympics.  I only managed to color about 5 images all night, but hey, it made for an easy card to throw together.

I'm a HUGE fan of all things Mish.  I mostly enjoy seeing the way all her creations come together, all her little doo-dads in her cute little containers.  Who wouldn't fall in love with those???  Anyway, I saw she had another sketch by Mish on her blog and thought I would give it a go.  I decided to go with a straight edge image instead of the rounded corners as I already had these images mounted.

Mish Meets Embellish Online

My marathon stamping session Saturday night (well, marathon by my means) paid off in that I was able to get some cards created for some challenges I had been wanting to participate in.

I was THRILLED to see one of my stamp idols had created a sketch challenge and it was a challenge for me (this is my 2nd card for it-the first is resting nicely in the garbage).  I created this for Michelle Wooderson (Mish) first sketch & also for the Embellish Online challenge.

Chipboard is not one of those go-to embellishments I use.  I adore what others do with them but I often wondered how they always made them so pretty with designer paper.  Some of them seem so difficult to cut around, but I decided to try again.  I love the added heart embellishment on this one!  I covered it with a pretty paintchip color and then added the stickles over it to really make it sparkle.

I have all this designer paper laying around and really need to use some of it before I go out and buy the newest papers out there.  I pulled out this SEI paper pack I bought at Michael's and love the colors/texture of it.  This is from the Black Orchid paper pack.

The little polka dot circles I used is from a set called Woodlands from Clear & Simple Stamps, thought it was perfect for adding a little more sparkle to the centers.  The ribbon I also bought at Michael's.
